It sounds pretty fugly to me, but there is a pretty good deal on an ARE cap locally in this color. So I'm wondering if anyone has done this color combo?

Yeah I'm fully aware that it could be painted, but that would have to be a ways down the road...

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Buy it if the price is right. :)

plasti dip it black until you can paint it. Cheap and i think a black cap wouldn't look terrible on a silver truck.

If I'm not mistaken, that's a silver cap on a pyrite mica truck... But yeah, who cares, doesn't look that bad. It'll do until whenever. Either you paint it, or just sell it again if you find a deal on the right color. I can't imagine it'll lose any value, as long as it isn't damaged.

what I paid for it plus getting it painted is still way cheaper than buying a new one

If the price is right than do it!You can dip it or vinyl wrap it until your able to paint it.
