Well, a mouse, anyway. I went out earlier for my regular Sat. morning oil level/tire pressure check and while I had the hood up I decided to take a quick look at the air filter, not something I usually check except at oil change time. Don't really know why I did it this time but I'm glad I did.

I'll pause now while everyone goes out to check their filters... Back now? Good, here's what I did to, hopefully, keep this from happening again.

I took some aluminum window screen material and sandwiched it between the air filter housing and the hose feeding it. I don't know for sure this will keep the mice out since they will chew on just about anything but it will at least slow them down a bit... maybe.

You can be sure that, at least for a little while, I'll be taking a look at the filter every time I check the oil.DSC00380.jpg

F#cking mice. I have a pond behind my garage with a pump that feeds a small water fall. It stopped running a few days ago and started checking things out. They had completely chewed through the power cord. I have no idea how they didn't get fried when going through the hot, neutral and ground.

    bah yeah... fuck mice.

Had one chew through an injector wire on my old chevy.... thing started running on 7 cylinders on my way home from work... said fuck it drove home. OBD scanner pointed me to the right one, a lil soldering and fixed.

Bastards. I hate mice. They ate half of a load of bananas off my tree this past summer.

I admire your discipline to check your oil level and tire psi every week.
