Oh gawd, that's terrible. And I'm guessing that $$ came out of yer own pocket, right? It would be kinda' unreasonable to hold Toyota or yer insurance responsible for that. (Unless you have some really good insurance...)
I've been using this and so far so good. Not one sign of mice after discovering a nest (Under the hood) in my brand new rig after it sat for 6-7 days..

I have a buddy of mine who lives down near Tuscon AZ. ... His wife had (Had) an 02' 4Runner ... They went on vaca for 2 weeks and came back to find that squirrels had chewed up the wiring and vacuum hoses so bad that the insurance company had to just write it off as 'totaled'...It was beyond the $9K it would have taken to repair it.
Now, through no real fault of his own, and since the price of used `Yota's are through the roof lately ... He's having a tough time finding her a used rig that is even close to the low miles and well taken care of rig she was originally driving.
    Yeeesh...

Damn dude that really bites! I stopped by Toyota today to get a price on my chewed up parking brake boot and it’s $126. Put some wire mesh in your AC vent immediately!! See my pics above And “ NO RATS ALLOWED” signs in the yard!

Ya know what's weird ... And shouldn't sound weird for those who live in the same kind of territory ... I'm less concerned about hitting a deer/elk/moose ... As I am about having my new rig eaten from the inside-out.
I just spent the last 1/2 hour spreading 'pellets' on the four corners of the shop/garage, and I've usually never had to do that before.
    But it's very strange times.

I'm done with my Tacoma. Today I discovered the second wire harness chewed up on my 2020, even after wrapping the area with dryer sheets and using the spray. As soon as it's fixed it's going bye bye, that is if I can even sell it with two $5000 insurance claims on it, not to mention a 3rd to replace the airbox ~$700. Trading it in for something that fits in the garage. F-ing squirrels. Going to look into the class action but really doubt that goes anywhere. Anyway, it's been real folks.

Dryer Sheets are just Folklore, I have put them out before too and the mice simply chewed right through them.

Yeah they are a real pain in the ass, in watching those mouse videos it seems that real peppermint oil seems to be about the only deterrent that works.
