I found this on my cabin filter.
Inserted the vacuum hose and cleaned inside the vent. Where should I look under the hood to see where they might came in?
    Any way to prevent it?
I park my truck on my driveway in the summer and in the garage during winters.
    Thanks

Yuk, I had a mice family move into my air intake filter when I worked in Utah ('96 Tacoma). Driving to Alabama cured the problem for me. The fluff and nest material jacked up my MPG - that's what prompted me to look at the filter. Since then I check it from time time.

    SNACKS!!!!! :hungry:

Seriously, the wire over the cowl intake is merely a small obstacle. Mice can pass through a 1/4" gap. So, 1/4" x 1/4" hardware cloth is only a bother. Sure, the hardware cloth will prevent bigger critters from making a home, but not the mice.

Only 1 issue with bait stations.

Mice eat the bait, then leave. In a few hours they find a secret place to die. Then the hunt for the stink begins..............

Can't argue with that. I place mine in the garage by the doors and around the outside of the house hoping to get them before they get in the house. So far, I've never found one in the house, but have found dead mice in the garage. I have replaced the bait so I know they eat it, I just don't know where that all go to die.

    It’s really annoying.
I have a friend that has a very nice low mileage BMW Z4 was stored and mice went in and chewed wires. The car was totaled by insurance.

Thank you guys for your help and suggestions.
I used an aluminum gutters leaves guard. Hopefully it will work.

I have found that Mice and rats hate moth balls. I had an extreme rat problem in my shop and threw moth balls here and there behind stuff and in the rafter ends and, lo and behold, the rats vamoosed. It's really cheap and lasts for quite a while.

I already got some. I’ll throw few balls in the engine bay. Can’t use it inside though because I can’t stand the smell.:)

Yep, it'll even kill the unsuspecting scavenger who eats the dead rodent.

Hmmm.....might be a good method to thin out the night roaming neighborhood cats................ stupid owners who just let their animals roam.....

+1 on moth balls, I put a bag in the engine compartment near the battery. After $6K in two different mouse events on a Yaris, I have had no more problems. On the Tacoma every now and then I'll get a powerful whiff mostly its fine.
