Anyone have any experience with these guys? I read great reviews about the michelin defender lxt and they dont have 255/80’s. Does anyone run 255/75’s? Just looking for opinions. My other choice would be falkens most likely

Depends on how you use the truck.

Hard to beat if you are mostly pavement.

I was really close to buying those in that exact size but I went Toyo ATIII because I really like them as well (same size). Unfortunately I could only find one pic of them (the Michelin) here. Ultimately decided I wanted a bit more aggressive although the Michelins would have served me very well. Go for it!

I only had a bad experience with Falkens so they are not on my radar anymore.

They’re probably the best street tire you can buy for a truck/suv.

Same here. Ran the Michelins for years. Was always my go to tire. Just wanted to try a A/T tire for the first time. Went with the Toyo ATIII as well. Going into my 3rd winter with them and no issues to report so far.

I've only had one set of Michelins (265/70R17) on my Frontier and they were great. Tried out Toyos (265/65R17 XL) on my Tacoma once I got it and I really liked them because I felt no decrease in road manners comparatively and they are every bit as smooth and seem to have nearly the same traction. Now I'm on LT255/75R17 Toyos which have less traction but still good. I'll probably to back to XL/SL next time though. We'll see.

Yeah I couldn’t find a picture either of that size for the michelins which sucks but I think I’m going to go for it and I’ll post a picture so that one exists lol. I was between 265/70 and 255/75 I just don’t want the tires to look to small but after a lot of research i think this is almost perfect size. Just looking for some second opinions tbh

I think they'll be a good choice. Run them at 27 psi.

On my 3rd set. It's these or AT2's. The defenders are better in the snow and ice and aren't as noisy. I'd buy again in a minute.

    I run them at 35lbs

Yes, was tempted to go with a LT or E but the P-Metric are really a great do all tire for me.

I went 255/75 because I wanted C's, but they do come at a cost of slightly less rain traction due to less siping and of course different rubber compound with less or no silica. Now they have an LT 265/70 C’s that I would still consider but leaning towards P/SL anyways, they are more practical if you are staying on the road primarily.

But then that's what makes Michelins attractive too. Only thing they lack is the look.

That is the appropriate load requirement when calculating for the new size and different load capacity from the door sticker and stock tires.

Can I ask how you get the calculation on that?

Start with one of the stock tires. It matters if it's a P-metric or euro metric. Euro metric is metric that is NOT LT and doesn't have the P in front, aka 265/70R16. I'm not sure what the stock tire on your SR5 is - I know it's either P245/75R16 or 245/75R16. You'd enter that into the website.

Then for the new tire, you'd choose euro metric (because I know Michelin 255/75R17 is only euro metric and not P or LT), then enter the 255/75 info and it should spit out 27.

Whoops, when I said 27 I should have said 28. I was thinking of a calculation I ran for a different size.
