I'm too cheap to get new tires until my (Defender LTX M/S) finally wear out, so hopefully they'll hold up to some light wheeling this summer. But after this past winter in Colorado I feel like they need more love for how well they've done on and in snow.

Had the ltx ms /ms2 Michelins on a series 100 Land cruiser...

The tires are the best on road. They are super quiet and provide great grip in the wet and dry.

They are excellent off road and in the snow - this is the surprising part!!

A co-worker uses Michelins working in the bush and they do surprisingly well where he drives. When things get overgrown (lots of sticks poking at sidewalls) with brush or several inches of greasy mud, he parks his truck and switches to a quad. I run Duratracs and don't quad.

For most folks, the Michelins will be fine and even nicer with the pavement driving they predominantly do. They are a nice tire that doesn't get much respect for their capabilities because of their tame look.

The LTX M/S tires I have seen marketed recently are version 2. They come in an XL load rating now which sounds like a good compromise between the SL and LT choices. Costco sells them, by the way, but they are re-named X LT A/S 2. The very same tires as the version 2 defender M/S but renamed for Costco and Sam's so tire vendors don't have to deal with price matching from these discount giants.

Screenshot_20240531_033712_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20240531_035415_Chrome.jpg Motor 1..gave the continental best all terrain tire 2024, I'm running the michelin defender ltx m/s on my tacoma, motor 1 didnt have the michelins in their shootout but I found a comparison chart. I have been over plenty of rocks, sharp, pointed, round ect, been through mud, snow, they've gone through everything I've thrown at them just fine..these are load range E (thick sturdy sidewalls) I can't say 1 bad thing about the michelin defender ltx m/s tires.

I have them on my Taco and love the LTX M/S they are great in the snow. I live in snow country so I have experienced a lot of tires over the years and these age the best.I do some off road but not extreme and they handle well in the sand, mud etc. Will buy another set when these are worn out.
