Haha thanks. I actually originally thought the same thing, but, I really wanted those wheels, and I couldn't bring myself to buying any other tire, these seemed to be the exact tire for my needs. I was really pleasently surprised with how it all looks. I oringally told the guys to have the white walls face out, but, I actually kinda like the black walls out, even if its not what I asked for. haha. But thanks, I'm very happy with it! (my fiance was pissed though...but, I work hard for my money, its ok to spend some on yourself every now and then:D)

Hi, I have 100000km or 65000miles on my M/S2 tires on my 4Runner. I am also looking for tires for my Taco too.
I live in an area where it rains for 6 months of the year. Of those 6 months there is slush for 2-3 months. I have also taken this tire down de-commisioned logging roads, through 2-3 feet of heavy snow, and oh yeah also 6 inches ice on the 4Runner(all seperate occasions). It is flawless. There is still enough tread for a couple more years easy, I will use them one more. The tire has full depth sipes which really work awesome in wet weather. I hate the Bridgestones for their sipes because their tires are half or 3/4 depending on the tire. I have driven the Goodrich on another 4Runner and Taco in the snow and rain and can honestly say they can't hold a candle to the performance of the M/S2. But, the Goodrich look better. On the dry the Goodrich is great, mud too. When the crap (rain/slush/snow) hits the pavement do you care for looks or what will get the family home. Good luck with the choice. For what it is worth, I am seriously considering running a studded snow tire on my Taco in the winter like I do my VW. It will go anywhere then.

Thanks a lot! I'm very pleased with my MS2s. I'm excited to see how they handle in snow. Unforunately, studded tires are illegal in PA, so thats not an option, but I think these tires will be excelent.

The only tire I will run, handle great, very quiet, and have great tread life. Well worth the $190.00 per tire.

I just got LTX MS2's installed last week replaceing the OEM which I sold to a guy at work for $100, I then just this past tuesday got the 4 leaf TSB done and the truck rides and handles great.

I like the look of the MS2's all black no nonsense.

I may have to try that.

How many miles did you have on those Dunlap's?

    Larry,

Less than 1000 miles, $50.00 was all they would do.

I was fine with this as I did not have to advertise on Craiglist etc or carry the Dunflops back home. The Donflop grandtreks have a terrible rating on tirerack.com. I could not wait to get them off the truck, they are about as cheap as it gets in tire quaility IMHO. Sure wish Toyota would put better OEM tire on their new trucks.

The $200.00 ended up paying for one of my new Michelin MS/2's, so I was only out of pocket for the other three.

As you know I also bought the Anthracite gray TRD wheels for $484.00 shipped to my door. I sold my used stock alloy wheels on craigslist in only two days for $200.00 cash to another Tacoma owner. So the new TRD wheels cost me 284.00. "Made me happy"

Just something to think about...I hear a set of those TRD rims calling your name..<grin>

    Cheers,

    Thanks David.

    I've got 2200 miles on my SR5...

I get the TSB springs installed next week...after that I may just get some LTX's on these steelies for a while.

I'm curious what the tire shops may give me for the Dunlap's?

I had 4800 miles on my OEM tires no tireshop in my area would buy them or give me a discount on the purchase of new tires.
I got the tires first, then the TSB, I figured since an alignment was part of the TSB it might be best to have the tires I was going to keep on it prior to the TSB

I believe I forfeited a little handling moving from the Showroom Bridgestone Duelers to the MS2's on dry roads. It's been pretty dry here in PA...but got some decent rain this week. Hit the brakes pretty hard once and the MS2's ground to a quick halt. On quick acceleration in the wet they did spin up a little more than I like. Waiting for first snowfall.....

ditto on the snow fall. I never had the bridgestone duelers, but I know these are a million times better than the stock dunlaps I had on. i think they handle like a champ in the rain, I haven't spun my wheels at all yet, but I dont accelerate real fast when starting, my scanguage flips me off when I do that...I'm hoping these prove as good as the ratings say they do in the snow though...what part of PA are ya from?

Just got the M/S2's installed on Friday. Discount Tire had a 3 day deal for Michigan and Ohio stores. Tires were $170 each with a $100 rebate when you buy 4. The difference between the stock Bridgestones and the Michelins is like night and day.

Best tire out there in my humble opinion. Super quiet, handle great wet or dry and are really high mileage tires with proper rotation, inflation and balancing. You get what you pay.

well i go off roading every now and then, but when I go on TW meet days I do everything that the guys do with their AT and mud tires, and I would not do some of the stuff they do alone but I just grunt down and follow the guys in the stock trucks. The ms2 tires are pretty capable. Sometimes you have to forget about looks and go for whats practicle!
I just can't spend $600 bucks on tires every 35K miles, So go for the ms2 I have 50 k miles on mine and they still look like I can get another 40 to 50k out of them.

Hey guys, great thread, I've lurked now and then, but never posted. I've been needing some new tires and I think the MS2 are going to fit me great. I've had the Revos for about 3 years now with almost 75k miles on them. Tread is getting low as you can imagine.

Anyway, I just had 1 question, what is this 4 leaf TSB that I've heard a few of you mention? I did a quick google, but couldnt find anything concrete. I have 2005 PreRunner 4x2 Access Cab if that makes any difference.

    Cheers.

EDIT: I think I found my answer and I'm way out of the 36k mile warranty period, so I guess it's moot. Thanks for the great thread anyway.

Just got home from Discount Tire where they mounted up my new Michelin M/S2's. They treated me right and they look great on the truck. Hopefully the last set of tires I'll need for this one! [IMG]
