While I was working at Discoount Tire...we had a customer who had a 2008 Tacoma double cab short bed. He had replaced his original p245-75-16 Dunlops around 45k with a LT-E 245-75-16 ms2. Those lasted until about 200,000 or so. Replaced his second set of lte ms2's at about 350,000. I've never seen such good mileage out of a tire.

I have about 20k on the exact same tire. Couldn't be happier, no complaints. I don't off road any but have been in snow. No problems. Best tire I've ever owned.

150k on a set of tires... sounds a bit much. I have these tires, I hope they make it that far, ha

Right. It does sound like a bit much. Considering the fact I was the salesman during his visits; I find that tire information relevant to this thread.

I was driving a lifted first gen and couldn't squeeze 50k out of a set of tires with our winters here in Illinois.

I dont beat on my truck, but not ms daisy either. I will probably get 50-60 out of them. I dont think i could have gotten much better. I am very happy with that. Still beats the $/mile of other tires ive had.

Before I sold my 97 4runner, I had put on 2 sets of tires only. Mich both times. 1st set lasted until 125k but I replaced them because of sidewall cracking not worn out.
2nd set lasted with most of the tread when I sold the truck at 205k.

I had the older M/S 2 type. I loved the way the truck rode and handled with them. My ONLY gripe with them is that they wore pretty quickly. I ended up replacing them at about 30K. They weren't worn out, but I didn't want to take them through another winter with what they had left. ...and yes the truck was aligned regularly.

Great choice! Not only a smoother and quieter ride, you will likely find them to be the best rain tire you've drove on.

I had this same issue. Michelin seemed to just stop producing them and a call to Michelin suggested they had no immediate plans to do so. I was not happy, but ended up with them in 265/70/16. Honestly, I’m happy I went back to the stock size. Combined with my swapped 3rd gen Trd off-road wheels i think they look great and on road performance is phenomenal. I gained 1mpg moving from 265/70/17 dynapro ATM’s (already a light tire, and including the 3% correction).

My work truck had done more off-roading on michelin defenders than a majority of this board, so I’m not worried at all about the mild off highway stuff I do personally.

Yup i had some P rated 265/75R16 Dynapro ATM RF 10s and they were light, but wet and ice / light snow grip really dropped off around the 30k mile mark. Just cant beat the highway manners of the Michelin MS2

unfortunatly i cant (really dont want ) to go down to stock size as im lifted and it would look like my truck skipped leg day lol.

My exact experience. I held off on going to a “responsible, practical” tire on my personal truck for a long time.

I finally got to the point where I accepted that my work truck handled just as well in inclement weather and off road with a set of Michelin’s as my Tacoma did with AT’s.

It really is the tire (or at least style) that 95% of this board SHOULD be running. Unfortunately, Extra pieces of rubber on the sidewall are more important than actual performance in the real world.

I guess that’s why the second gen forum is turning in to the squated and stretched forum.

I've done a fair bit of wheeling with michelins. They do just fine.

I'm on my second set of LTX AT2. First set had 80k on them and 7-8 mm tread left. They were 8 yrs old and the sidewalls were cracking so I changed them. They would have easily went 120k if I drove more than 10k miles a year.
