Planning a trip to the Upper Peninsula with my gf at the end of July. Any must stops to see in the area? I was going to shoot for some waterfalls, hit Copper Harbor, Painted Rocks, etc. Please provide me with any tips or insight.

I've been the UP before and was going to hit the roads due east of Copper Harbor. Any other good forest trails suggested? Any help is much appreciated.

Where are you coming from? Any particular interests for you or the lady? For example if youre headed up the west side of the state there are a lot of great breweries, Traverse City has phenomenal food and lots of vineyards to please the lady - the UP is clearly more rustic - lots of awesome outdoor spots - could ferry out to Isle Royale and do some off grid camping and hiking which is gorgeous.

Crystal falls had some great Forrest service trails north of town near Deer Lake. There is a state Forrest campground there for rustic camping.

Crystal falls has a state park if you want a bit more modern camping.

Mandan Road (from Mandan) to the rocket range at the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula.

    Montreal Falls is awesome .

The top of Brockway Mountain at sunrise is spectacular too.

UP: Definitely check out Tahquamenon Falls State Park and the Kitch-iti-kipi when you’re up there. Isle Royale if you have the time. Mackinac Island is always fun as shit. Drummond island if you want to go farther East.

LP: Do the M22 loop if you’ve never done it and you can spend a night in the TC area. The sleeping bear sand dunes too. Fish town. All kind of fun/cool shit to do up north.

Not my picture, had to borrow it from @Chuy since I didn’t feel like walking out to the garage to snap my own. I pulled the far left bolt on that front cross brace and bolted my flag mount on there. All the mount is is some 1/4 inch flat stock with the proper sized holes drilled in it.

The second pic shows how the mount sticks out on the front of the truck. I had some concerns that it might have dug in if i hit something right but it hasn't been an issue as of yet and realistically at that point i'm probably doing damage to the bumper too. And yes I was stuck at this point. Stopped a little short on test hill and thought maybe 4lo and the locker could crawl out. Rookie mistake, I just dug in deeper. upload_2018-3-28_23-33-55.jpg

This is actually where I was thinking of doing it. I should have some 1/4" flat stock laying around somewhere. What pressure did you have your tires at? In my jeeps and other trucks I usually ran 10psi rear and 12 psi front and usually I can get everywhere in 2wd. But, this tacoma has proven to be kind of turd off road, so I'm assuming ill need put it into 4wd.
