We are headed to the Manistique area this weekend for some camping and relaxing. Anything cool in the area we can do with the truck or Mountain bikes?

I have some TRD pro's at my disposal, as long as they are available and not reserved by anyone else.

I will definitely be going on the 18th to Silver Lake, that sounds like a fun time and I haven't been there yet. I was up north last week and did a little more exploring on the Kalkaska route. Found a very steep, narrow and rutted out section and decided to back down and take the easy option. I should have taken a picture but next time :annoyed:

I asked for some advice from a lot of you a few months back about things to do for a trip up to the UP. This is what I've come up with for the itinerary. Let me know what you think. Thanks again for all your help.

Below is the draft itinerary, stuff in italics is dog info

    Michigan Trip
    Me, GF, her dog

    Saturday Morning
    Leave
    Saturday Night
Arrive and Stay outside Tahquamenon Falls (TBD, need to figure out campsite)
Andrus Lake State Forest Campground W Vermillion Rd, Paradise, MI 49768
Secure campsite, drive up to Whitefish point to check out lighthouse, swing back
Or camp at North shore of lake superior dispersed on W wildcat rd 46.763213, -85.021967
"A permit is required to stay on state forest land. This is a spot you can camp in the Paradise area. It is good for tent/car camping. I would think a trailer could make it down the dirt road, but turning it around would be a problem. I believe I saw a fire ring here too. Follow the road to whitefish point. About a mile before the point you will see a historic building on the right and Wildcat road to the left. Follow Wildcat road past the bogs/cranberry farm and you will reach a spot where the road connects with the North Shore of Lake Superior."
Closer to the falls Paradise, Michigan GPS: 46.641113, -85.126612

I would recommend KBC over red jacket brewery 10/10.
Also there is a great place to get pasties called Roys bakery. Its right on the portage canel in houghton. Good views too!

You also might want to do a little research for stuff in the houghton area to make sure everything is open and passable. They had some really bad flooding up there recently.

    Happy trails!

I borrowed one from someone on the forum. It even had a custom press tool in it, Apparently, someone added it to the kit along the way. Not sure if its still floating around or not. abqnurse80 was his SN. He's a good dude!

Hey Michigan peeps.. I have a set of four SCS RAY10 wheels in limited edition brushed copper. Brand new, never mounted. They are absolutely stunning wheels but since receiving them I've had second thoughts about the color on my Tacoma. I think I am going to let them go.

    Specs: 17x8.5, bolt pattern 6x139.7, BS 4.30", OS -10mm, 24.5lbs.

I'm in Highland (48357) and will drive up to an hour to meet ya.

Figure I'd try here to avoid having to ship them. Only looking to get what I paid out of them. PM me if interested..

I have the removal tool and will be getting the harbor freight bearing race driver for install. Are you going to the meet at Silver Lake on the 18th?
