a genuine mid west survivor made it!
    thank you, Gay Michigan

    Gay-MI 2 sharpR.jpg

stopped at the Gay Bar for lunch, extremely foggy out this day (2wks ago). which was a real bummer being this far from home and no good view of Lake Superior in the morning

    GayBar -1.jpg

3 other travelers were also there before I got there
a couple from Ohio, Florida and some bikers of unknown roots

this place must get uber wild in the dead of winter with the piles upon piles of snow everywhere
the bartender/waitress (originally from Florida) said during the winter they do whatever the hell they want!
I may have to venture back during a winter season sometime and see for myself, I have seen U.P. snow in February before (late '90s) but memories are fading with age

So did you get the , 6”,8”,or the 12” hot dog. They have good hotdogs, and they jokingly play it up.

Heading up from Chicago tomorrow to the Baldwin-Cadillac area to explore and ride some trails. Going to spend all day Saturday and a little bit Sunday. Been up there a couple times with limited time to check it out. Anyone got any suggestions or tips for the area? Any decent places to stay or to grab a bite. If anyone up for hitting the trails in that area come on out. Thanks for any suggestions.

Trail wise, there are a ton of forest and seasonal roads all over... but the tin cup orv route and the little o are worth a trek (note that only little o is legal for 50” and over; big o is orv trail/50” and under only). Nothing really challenging at all, but good for a casual fall color kind of ride. Wish I could make it over to join, I haven’t been out that way in a while... but just had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago, and not quite up for it yet.

I was over there 2 weeks ago. Tons of trails that are truck friendly, lots of river accesses to check out. The newest restaurant/bar is called Red Neck Yacht Club. Its the former Deer horn bar. Its located on M-55 4 miles east of Wellston. Its pretty new so they are still working out the bugs of getting food to the customers in a timely manner. I didn't mind the wait. Its bar food.

My dad had it done when he bought the truck up here from arizona but its pretty beat up now from being used as a work truck. Its a hunting rig anyway so I'm not super worried about it.

Emmet, you can do everyone a favor and cut that POS up with the circular saw and deposit it the recycle bin. LOL. Those things are worthless. They hold the water under the liner and promote the rusting of the bed. The only good thing they can be used is to hide the sin from the next owner. Which is just wrong.

Can you tell I hate them?

BTW, how have you been? Good summer?

fortunately i lucked out with a plastic liner put on new and never removed in over 22 years
got pics if you need to see what it was like under there with mid west snow & ice piled high year after year

just some minor surface crust and a lot of naked steel under there!

Spotted this sweet 1st gen rig today in Canton! Full King long travel setup with fiberglass widebody. I didn't get to find the owner but had to snag a picture

    Anyone know the owner?

am Pro grille w/lights, black tailgate letters, black badging, 265-70-17 Duratrac "c", Rear seat platform,
I think I saw that one this summer in downtown Plymouth. How often are there any get-togethers in Michigan? On on my 3rd Toyota truck but just joined this forum this year.

I'm new to tacomas this year , I'm in southwest michigan grand rapids Kalamazoo area and I'm looking for a good ship to do my lift and cab mount chop. Any places that are very familiar in Tacomas ? I have called a few places that have said " we have never done a Tacoma but I'm sure we could " that worries me and I'd rather take it and pay for a place that knows them well . Any input is welcome . Thanks

victory 4x4 is over there. I’m sure they could either do it or provide some recommendations.
