That's a horrible idea. What time?
Do former Michigander's count? Moved from Macomb county to Northern VA for work, and bought my Taco here. Thought I'd say hello.

I am really interested in coming out, but I have NEVER done any off roading. I just picked up an FJ and would love to see how she does. Sounds like all I need is a flag. Anything else?

Not required but recommend to pick up some $20 tire deflators to air your tires down to 12 psi or so before getting on the sand. Much faster than by hand. Also bring a gauge to air back up.

Last year was my first time. It was a blast. Yes a flag and mounting bracket is all you'll need. Duneland help me last year. I just told the what kind of truck i had and they knew what mounting bracket I needed. Air done to 15-12psi when you get inside the park. They have a air station that you can air back up before you leave. Other then that you'll be good to go. Oh you do have to have state park pass. But no ORV tag are required this coming weekend. Hope to see ya out there.

@red yoda is correct. Typically ORV and ORV Trail permits are required as well, but since this will be during the "free tag weekend" all you need is a Michigan State Park pass. I went out on Saturday again and had a good ole time! Not too crowded but extremely bumpy and super soft sand. However, we did get a little rain/wind over the past couple days and there's more in the forecast for this week. Hopefully we get some of it before Saturday, as that will help smooth things out and firm up the sand a little. Either way, looking forward to seeing all you guys out there!

Just a few Michigan things, Midway Spring & Trailer in Afton sorted out my saggy rear leafs and did an awesome job. And also, I'm starting to plan a couple of solo camping trips in the next couple of months (since my company is now WFH till mid next year I'm staying for some snow). I've driven the marblehead ledges before, but didn't stick around much.

-Is there any good dispersed camping around Marblehead on Drummond?
-Any recommendations for dispersed spots around pictured rocks?

I'll be bringing along either a fat bike or my gravel bike so ideally looking for some places with decent riding.

Whos got pics from the gathering??
I didn't think I would take my truck in there, but the dunes called to me. Great time. Bottomed her out and bent my flag bracket on one hill, oops. She performed amazingly for complete stock, I feel the call to offroading parts and accessories, but my wallet tells me I must fight the temptation of the dark side.
    Who's got pictures?

My friend showed me around, he just converted from Ford to Toyota(thanks to me) and took his stock 4runner up Test hill 6 times, only failing once. He took me and my wife for a ride and once we rolled up to test we saw two Jeeps fail, which he then showed up by flying up without an issue. I didn't take mine up test, next time I probably will.

The dunes are always a good time. Even when you end more than a week up there with a broken transmission, powersteering pump, and a shredded belt. First time trying to hot lap without power steering. That was an interesting experience.

I didn't get any pics but there are alot up at dunelands dunepics site.

Some people have been posting some on the facebook event page also.
