Maybe we can a ride in a month or so or when the new off road park opens up for the season. We are going to have to pass for this weekend.

Idk of any shops, but would recommend diy if possible... save yourself some money Its a fairly easy process if you have an angle grinder, welder, and scrap steel lying around.

Yeah you’re right. My brother has a nice welder that he loves any excuse to fire up lol. I bought the cmc plates from bamf so I’ll probably just end up doing it myself when it warms up a bit.

I'd love to get out there with my Tacoma. But it probably won't happen this year. We did that area last year in a Frontier rental. It was nice, but still wish I had my Tacoma there.

You've got to try northern Michigan or the UP. Other than Silver Lake, I'm not aware of any off road parks, per se, but there are good forest roads everywhere and ORV trails too.

Do the forrest roads require the OHV tags up there? The rules on those really elude me as far as which roads require it. Their maps leave a bit to be desired.

I'd say it does...most of the UP are self proclaimed Cheese Heads.

I want to. Can't run to utah once a month. Maybe some of us can plan a trip up there this summer and camp.

I believe any that are open to motor vehicles just need a license plate. However, getting the stickers never hurt since you'll need them at places like the Sand Dunes anyway.

This is correct, with just a few exceptions... Any area defined as a scrambled area you’ll need them, but that pretty much just includes silver lake, st Helen, and bull gap hill climb. Some ORV parks require them too, like Mounds, and I believe the Holly park does as well (I don’t think rocks and valleys or others do, as they’re privately owned).

Regardless, I always get the stickers (orv and trail), just to make sure I’m covered. You never know when you’ll run across a stubborn and ill informed officer with their own interpretation of the rules. The money is “supposed” to also go towards trail maintenance and what not.
