I live in S Florida, your baby deer in MI are Giants compared to what runs around in the swamps in the Everglades.

Are either good for the snow, as I am looking for an all around tire in either MT or AT that will work in the event of an early snow fall when I visit in Nov.

FLA deer are dogs in disguise..perhaps Chihuahuas...
As far as tires, I bought the Yoko geolander MTs and I really like them so far. Not too noisy for an MT and wearing really well. As far as snow in November, that far south in MI, I wouldnt worry about FEET of snow...maybe a dusting...

Typically MT and AT are not great in the snow, especially packed snow/ice. Might be ok in deep snow. Soft compound and lots of siping/square edges helps on packed snow/ice

Grundle is absolutely correct, I take mine off for winter and install Nokian's.

MTs are not snow tires, doesn't matter who makes them.

This is 100% wrong lol (ok 60% wrong). Certain ATs, especially with the 3 peak rating (like Falken Wildpeaks) are fantastic in the snow. They're not "snow tires" but good for all around.

I'll back that up, I got them so I could drive in blizzards and whatnot as a first responder. They're fantastic. Good road manners too, and balanced well with mild wheeling. (Not into rock bouncing or mud bogging lol)

There are some AT that are ok in snow. I have some Nokian AT tires that are 3 peak rated and they are adequate for most driving in snow but not even comparable to the Hakkapalitas as far as snow/ice performance. Typically they are not great, like I said. Compared to a proper snow tire, they are not "fantastic". Good for all around and fantastic in the snow? Which one is it? Those things are mutually exclusive

My opinion is the best AT currently is the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. But when I buy a tire it is not for road manners its how it works off the road.

Yes a tire can be good all around and still be excellent in one or more environments. That is my personal experience with the Fallen Wildpeaks.

The official tire of both Ultimate Adventure and Overland Adventure presented by Four Wheeler magazine lol

I had a set of wildpeaks, and the were out of round...got another set under warranty, and THEY were out of round...so...theyre a hard pass for me. Glad you have good luck with them, but nope, never again. But OP, I'd look for a what you like. If youre driving up from FLA, a good set of ATs might be your best bet and they will be fine for November snowfall here. Not like youre coming to visit in February...

Ive been extremely happy with my Milestar Patagonia XT's here in Michigan. Compared to the other tires ive tried; Wildpeaks, K02's, KM3's...the XT's are the best so far and theyre snow rated which is nice.

Ive put 20K on them and they have worn great (Minimal wear, very quiet on road manners). Off-road theyre great, equivelant experience to my KM3's and K02's when I had them.

That’s “Pure Michigan “ winter. I usually own silver, gray , or white trucks, I hate the @&$&&$&&$ salt.

Just joined the taco owners club with a little red 1st gen. Wanted to say hi to all the other michigander owners! Cant wait for this summer. Want to do a light overlanding build with a RTT and go camping. Any suggestions of places to go first?

The michigan overland group on FB is a great group to checkout if you havent already. Theres a lot of already posted questions and locations about overlanding in Michigan!

Checkout Manistee Forest, tons of spots along the manistee riverway too near Mesick. Depending on where your based theres unlimited amount of exploration in the UP with great camping spots and trails!
