You don't need a bumper to wheel jay! Just run it without one and not run into anything!

I'd love to find some more trails to roam down.

Fj guys said something about 20ish miles of trail in Baldwin?

That's about 2 hours north of where we were at jays place and they are 2 way sand roads. Very sketchy! I don't take my bike there anymore, and I would never take my truck cuz I'd have about 6 bikes stuck to the front of my rig!

Was Matt talking about Big O/ Little O. And I agree the first quad or bike to come around a corner going 60 would probably be sketchy, but at least for the first time I wouldn't be the one on the quad.

That would be a great article about your front bumper! In the obituaries section of Baldwin County newspaper jay! The trails wouldn't be fun In a truck anyway unless he is referring to a different area others than those popular ones!!

Not sure Mike, there is some super old remains of a train bridge that goes along the side of the valley closest to where the picture was taken from. Nearest road I near there that I can remember is Trowbridge road?

Not sure what the trails are that they talk about in Baldwin, I will post something on the FJ forum to ask specifics. The way they explained it is basically seasonal roads like we were on with Jay. Last time he was on there was with about a foot of snow and a stock Jeep Cherokee. I'll find out.

If anyone's interested, I found a whole new labyrinth of trails over towards Lake MI :)

Do you have a GPS? Reason being its easy to get in... not easy to find ur way out :p Some GPS's actually have the trails marked on them!

its all in through this general area:
    http://maps.google.com/maps?q=rothb...bury,+Oceana,+Michigan&gl=us&t=h&z=14&vpsrc=6

and/or we could check out the sweeter rd trails

which apparently is roughly in this general area:
    http://maps.google.com/maps?q=sweet...skegon,+Michigan+49457&gl=us&t=h&z=13&vpsrc=6

Sweeter road looks like it has a bunch of woodsy 2-track that branches off of it. I say we need to check out both! Start at sweeter and maybe go up from there! And the sooner the better I am really ready to try out some new trails. (I hate mud now)

FJ guy got back with me. Gave me a link I will also quote what he said here. Sounds like what you were talking about before Brandon.

"Summer time they are populated by bikes and atv's, but now with it getting colder its more vehicles. You may run across someone doing a winter ride on a bike or quad but nothing like what it is in the summer. I took a sand rail up there this summer and was pulling over for quads to pass more than anything. It is mostly sand, but dirt and mud can be found. The trails are also used for logging trucks."

I've cruised around those Baldwin trails like 6 times and done them all. I wouldnt take my truck up there as I don't think it would be much fun. If you guys wanna do them tear it up but I wouldn't waste your time with it. I'm down for sweeter road tho! Like Matt said let's start there then maybe cruise up to those other trails jay found!

Yea, as for the Baldwin trails the guys on fjcruiserforums said that it is more or less a scenic path to drive through. Can get more interesting with deep snow though. I wouldn't bother with them until there was significant snow to be honest. Its a 2 hour drive for me to the baldwin trails :/

Sweeter road is supposed to be pretty rough isn't it?

Guys, I have a confession to make. First I'll start with, I made a promise to myself and others that I would stop the childish racing up roads in the dark of night. For years I got away with it and should never commit to such an act ever again (yet I bought a Ninja zx6-r...makes sense right?)

But this kid had his flat bill baseball cap on with the bill flipped upwards and kept flooring his Chevy 1500. Duals just screaming. I couldn't help it...yup your V8 is still slow. Failsauce! hahaha speeds weren't more than 60 for real though. WOOT Toyota!
