I need to get out there and take some. Hopefully this weekend. This is a boring one sitting on the parking lot just after i got the front windows tinted.

 

A few more. So far ive removed the steps, added a tonneau, and got some bumpershellz because I couldnt stand the chrome bumper.

Careful with that. Front window tint is illegal in Michigan. I am jealous of that grille though!

 

Is front passenger/drivers side tinting legal in MI?

 

No. Only the top 4" of those windows can be tinted unless you have a prescription (which they don't just hand out).

I got pulled over 3 times for it in a different vehicle I owned for having the front passenger/driver windows tinted. The officers were cool each time. When we bought that car we were initially told by the previous owner who "had a cop friend" it was fine as long as it "wasn't too dark." Turns out, that's not actually the law. Lesson learned about 3rd hand information too.

 

I have tinted the front side windows of every car I have ever owned and have lived in MI all but one year of my life and have never been bothered for it. I know it's not technically legal without a doctors note, but I have even talked to cops right next to my cars and they never say anything. If you get pulled over for it chances are they were going to pull you over anyways and that was just tue excuse they used. If I had to guess I've done it to at least 7 vehicles now.

 

There could have been any number of reasons they chose to ignore it such as: on their way to another call, it's so minor that they didn't care, end of shift, you live in a place such as Detroit where they're short staffed and have much bigger issues to worry about, etc. My point is simply that it is illegal and some places care a little more than others. But, then again, lots of things on TW are technically illegal but we do them anyway.

 

Like having mud flaps that are not as wide as your mud tires in the state of Iowa.

 

Right! Or any lift and leaving the fog lights in since those are at the upper limit of the range as it is, aftermarket LEDs/HIDs in halogen housings, etc, etc.

There are other laws that cover that lol. Although within the last 10 years or so they went through and updated and repealed a bunch of antiquated laws that don't apply anymore. Like you used to technically have to use your turn signal and horn before changing lanes or turning.

 

Can hardly use fog lights at all in Oregon
