Probably just alittle bit. After seeing this pic my wife asked me why we had such small tires on the truck.

I feel right now that's the only way to make it through there. Or high clearance, big knobs and high horsepower!

I can bring a truck like that one of these days. Chances are next time we hit the trails my truck will be in GR torn apart or torn apart at my house.

So I think I'm going to get some 5100's. Wanting to keep it stock ish for a while these should improve response in the bumps and from what I've read give me the ability to level it out some. The fj just really makes my shocks feel sluggish off road.

    Think it's the right move?

Yea sounds good, get them and set it up just a tick hover than stock, and you can always change the height later if you need/want to. Go with an add a leaf in the rear if you wanna pick the rear up at all.

They make a huge difference and work great. I have been runnig them since last summer. I got mine with the spacers and 883 OME springs in front with a "1.5 blocks and an AAL in back. The washboards in the UP last summer were almost non-existent at 25 mph.

I am sure your results will be excellent just keeping them at stock height too (I am at "3 lift).

I ordered my stuff through Wheelers Offroad in WA. You might find items a little cheaper but their service and advice is superior. They knwo their way around Toys.

Are you planning on front and rear? 5100's are always a good choice. Like rattler said wheelers is always a good place to get stuff from.

Yes front and rear. I am really looking to increase the suspensions performance without lifting. The next few years won't see a whole lot of love for the truck. It gets a whopping 10k miles a year on it so...the little off reading its seen is the most wear it gets.

Saw a taco slightly lifted today same color as Brandons...access cab and what not. But had wheels like what Chris has. Right near the Toyota of GR dealership. Looked good, wish I had been in a Toy instead of the pos work truck my company has.

Alright guys whos going to want to hit silver lake up with me in a few months? I know its not everyones cup of tea, but its always a nice place to get away to and its not very hard on the trucks. Ok its as hard on the truck as you want to make it.

There is a possibility one of my buddys may be putting together a little winter event. He has done it the last couple of winters. It is mostly Toyotas too. He is in the process of buying a house right now though so he said it might not happen. I am trying to talk him into having it still. It would be in the Gladwin area. It usually consists of a night run on Friday and a trip to Rocks & Valleys in Harrison on Saturday.

I'd consider it. Can't be any worse than the sand I wheel in at Yankee springs.

How soon are you guys thinking? My tacoma should be going under the knife soon, but my buddies 4runner is almost done, so it needs some shaking down.

Most people think the sand gets in everything and will ruin there truck. My truck has been going there for along time and never had a sand related failure. I am still on my stock Ujoints with 130,000 and I used to pull my enclosed trailer up, the truck would chase the quads all day, and pull the trailer home.
Its always a good time. You see lots of cool stuff and meet some of the people. Just dont follow me through the whoop sections :D.

You get sand kicked up in the chassis just by driving down most roads. Now if you are submerged in sandy water then that ups the risk of component failure.

He had it right about this time last year. If he does it, it won't be until later next month.
