Made a last minute trip to Yankee today with a guy from the FJ forum and let me tell you, that rig is BAD!!!!! Six inch lift with 35" Trail Grapplers, snorkel, ARB bumper, and lights...

Parked next to me with his roof rack included was over a foot taller than my roof. I was almost looking up to him to talk from door to door. Lifts are SO needed.

yeah get with the program man! :p

So what started out as just a few lift parts from Chris, has ended up as:
    Coilovers
    Springs
    Shocks
    BPV bracket
    PS CV axle
    DS CV axle
    Bolts from toyota
    Bolts from hardware store
    Spray bedliner from autozone
Forced purchase of an impact wrench :D (great decision)

and working on fab-ing a new skid plate due to a seriously disgruntled one after my CV work...

Lifts are nice to have but he can keep the drop bracket lift, been there done that.

Put a 4" lift on a Jeep last weekend. Worked on the Suburban today. Hopefully tomorrow I will get back to getting my truck back together.

The big city of Dawagiac. Its just 10 minutes north of Niles. I do try to make it up to Lake County a few times a year for camping, fishing, and offroading.

Do ya know of any good nearby trails? Also, wondering how the frames on these trucks are holding up against corrosion. My last truck was a 2010 F250 w/plow and after 3 winters it was still like new. Just wondering what to expect. Pics would be cool. I am anal about my vehicles and keep the undercarrage sprayed with 50% use motor oil and 50% deisel mixture. But some of the photos I have seen are scary! I hate rust. Is it really that bad for the little Tacos here in sw mi?

This is my first Taco and I've only had it through one full winter. A buddy of mine had a First Gen Taco and got the frame restore same as my father in law and his Tundra so they don't really count........so what I'm getting at is I don't know shit....sorry.:smack::notsure:

Well I have 2 winters on mine so far and nothing to be concerned about. Im in grand rapids just a little north of you guys.

And cgs2k2 Yankee is actually Yankee springs recreational area. It's right in Barry county next to gun lake. Easy trails to navigate but can still be fun.

My truck turned into a bucket of rust when i was up there. Had 82 on it when i left MI and it looked horrible. The main thing i would suggest is GTFO while you still can! I washed mine a lot during the winter also. The dealership over here in WA looked at it and laughed at me!

So your not far from me either.

My Frame actually was very clean till a few years ago when I started cutting and welding on it. Since then it started getting all kinds of surface rust. I think the key for me was I never washed it, I just let the rain clean it and gave it a bath from time to time.

During the winter I will go through a higher quality car wash with the under body sprayers at least once a week depending on how much salt they are dropping. I continue washing at least once a week by hand/power washer on underbody during the summer to attempt keeping sand off components.

Looks like a perfect bath for it right there Chris!
