Well if you are looking for mud you have to wait for a good rain (as you can see above). Otherwise the trails out there are relatively short but will give you good flexing practice. The one pictured above is near a great mountain bike trail.

Never go out there alone. My buddies lifted chevy (sadface) barely got through that pit ahead of me. He was pedal to the floor in 4wd to get through.

A little. Had a bad crash at Yankee a few years back, ended up walking out with a busted arm/shoulder. Slowed down a little since then. ;)

I used to also but not so much now. Between work, family and the house, I don't get the time.

I just recently had bad crash at Cannonsburg ski loop and luckily didn't break anything. Yankee is a sandy mess right now.

I used to run the other Canonsburg when I lived in Hollnad @ 12 years ago. I liked that one for a quick ride.

Yankee Springs. Ah yes. I did that one a few times too. One time I was almost to the end and there was a timber rattler right in the middle of the trail. I went past and stopped. Yup, thats what it was. I got to the end and told a ranger I saw. "Your about the 3rd person to tell me about that."

There used to be a trail just outside of Cadillac (I think it may have been called Cadillac Pathway). It was a lot of rolling hills and was a blast to run too. Now I pretty much just hit Pine Haven not far away by Midland/Sanford.

Sweet...that's great to know about Yankee in the warm months. Well if anyone wants to meet up for a chill ride at one of the locations on a weekend sometime hit me up I'm usually game.

That would give me some motivation to get the bike out again. Maybe when the temps cool down a little and works slows down (15+ hour days don't leave a lot of free time!)?

Yikes! I feel like I have no time beyond dinner on 10 hour days, that would plain suck. Anyway yea when the weather cools a bit would be fine for sure. My buddies and I will probably be riding from now till the point of a light dusting of snow on the ground.

I plan on fabricating some cross bars that will mount to the factory bed rail system this week at work to mount bike carriers on. I've seen some neat ideas on this forum and will try to utilize some to make a strong alternative for less money than the stores will offer.

Trying to keep up with you guys who are riding regulary sounds like a good way to break another arm! LOL. With the topper on the truck I just use a hitch mounted carrier. I'd like to get a different mount so I could bring the bike and the kayak at the same time. Should of ordered the topper with a roof rack.

Well I'm not that quick yet, this is my first year riding and my buddies have done it a while but just getting back into things this year...I must be a trend setter for them, fail. Anywho I ride my own pace and its usually behind them lol.

The rails look good. Luton is new since I stopped riding regularly, been meaning to check it out.

Thanks, the rails should be good for around 300ish lbs across both of them I'm guessing.

Luton is a great trail, some easy and some technical. Hardpack very little sand.

What part of Michigan are you located? I'm newer to the state and am always up for a mountain bike trail, though I've not been avid in the routine since moving from Georgia a couple years ago... those trails are intense!

Sterling Heights, outside of Detroit. A bit of a drive to Silver Lake, but worth it...
