It was probably a good weekend up there! Busy? Been too busy to even consider getting out of town plus my quad started smoking recently!

I still would like to do some tuning on the rear suspension so I could probably be convinced to go again.

making some white smoke at startup. been doing research and i'm thinking it's some seepage getting into the cylinder when it sits. after it warms up it seem cool. if it holds together id like to make a run up north in October as well, but if it looks like a lost cause I think i'll be putting it on CL and let someone else wrench on it.

How much smoke and what does it smell like? Is it burning oil or just rich on choke? It's a warrior it will run forever.

I cant say the though hasn't bounced around in my head. I need to get my new garage first so I have somewhere to put it though, but that might be in the works very soon.

I will be waiting for the explanation.

Pretty good amount of smoke, for differing amounts of time with each startup, The smell I'm relating it to is when someone in a shitty car in front of you hits the throttle hard, not like oil burning really.

nice Matt, you will have alot more fun in the FRS.

I am not able to bring another vehicle home until I have the shop/garage built or buy the wife a car finally. I sold her Bug over a year ago and still haven't gotten her a car. Its not my fault she only likes boring cars. I was all set to bring the 86 pickup home to start a crawler build but got the wrath.

Unless I can sell here on it as her car :D.

I'll give you a call when I get some time. School starting back up means the kids are crazy busy and I spend more time than I'd like driving screaming kids around.

Ok its time to get a trailride going. Fun to do when the leaves really are changing and falling. The only catch is my wife wants to come and also probably craig in the suburban and his girlfreind.

    Thoughts?

Also we are planning on a Badlands trip here pretty soon. At this point it looks like in 3 weeks when we have my buddies 4runner done.

Hopefully I'm back from California this week sometime...I'd be game for light wheeling. No more mud holes for this guy. Got a sore feeling wheel bearings etc will go a lot sooner than I want them to.

I just did a search for that very question and found this thread. Happy to say me and my old man both own Tacos. His is an '01 TRD, mine's <- over there. But yeah, they're quite scarce in my neck of the woods. I had to go to Ohio to buy mine.

On another note, I'm just curious. Any fellow SE MI dwellers ever received any hostility from other drivers for driving a Toyota? I mean, I realize Toyota is one of the top "Detroit 3" killers, but it's not like I'm driving through Ann Arbor with a car plastered in OSU memorabilia blaring the Buckeye Battle Cry over the stereo. Or driving through East Lansing with Block M's everywhere cranking Hail to the Victors for that matter. (Cuz I would neeeeever do that.)

But seriously last week, I had a guy driving an '01 Jeep Cherokee 60th Anniversary Edition (that's how I knew it was an '01) pull up next to me to hurl insults at me and accuse me of killing American jobs and not supporting our troops because I drive a Toyota. I let him know his Jeep was German, my Dad worked for Toyota for 15 years, and my brother's a Sgt in the Army. That shut him up.
