Anyone planning on going to the TORC race at Redbud? I am just down the road and plan on being there.

We wetn to the one earlier this year in Bark River. They are pretty neat. I know Bark River your ticket includes wandering the pits and being able to meet the drivers. Hopefully it does there too.

Ya its an open format, so you are walking around with everyone and can go everywhere. Pretty cool, but I am used to that format from ATV Nationals.

Go meet Nick Baumgartner! He is a very nice guy and yooper! Add to that a pro-snowboarder too. I got to chat with him some in Bark River.

I'll be out there. I'll be in a white Tacoma with California plates so if you see me flag me down. Looking forward to it.

What's the best way of going about getting a flag mounted to the front of the truck for Silver lake? Not trying to spend a shit ton of cash.

One of those buggy shops should sell a clamp that will attach to your front hook and then thread the flag to it. Thats what I got 100 years ago when I went there. If not maybe fab something up with some bolts and attach it to your liscense plate holes.

not bad, have been super busy so haven't gotten to ride it as much as i'd like

I was wondering the same thing. No good spots to hook a clamp too, at least not the ones like I used on my chevy or dodge. How do those Cali guys mount em on a 2nd gen?

    The other solution: duct tape!!!

Does it have to be on the front? I ziptie mine to the roofrack and bedside hooks when I go to Rocks & Valleys.

Ill get you guy setup when you get there, just give me a call. David Allen Racing is at the park entrance and sells flags and brackets. You will laugh when you see there brackets but they have just about everything and they work. Won't cost to much.

I had a great time at Silver Lake this past Saturday. Thanks atvlifestyle for the invite and for the hospitality. That truck you have is sweet. I'm looking forward to my next trip up there.

To everyone else, if you haven't been to Silver Lake Sand Dunes you are missing out. It's an awesome time and everyone out there were good folks just having fun. You don't really run into the "Cali Bros" like at Glamis or Ocotillo Wells.

Hopefully I will see more of you guys out there next time.

Thanks for coming out. Glad you enjoyed it and was nice to meet you. I will let you know what we have coming up. I will put up a link to pics once I get them together also.

BTW isn't it amazing what a Tacoma will do up there with just proper air pressure.

Here is a link to some pics: Ill be adding more for a few days as I collect them.

Hoping to have my newly acquired Tacoma out to Silver Lake in October. I have taken it to Rocks and Valley. When I went to mount a Flag I saw a lot of un re enforced plastic up front. So we actually took a piece of square 2x2 tube and welded a long tab to it with a hole on the end for a flag. Then the 2x2 tube was attached to the front frame rail with U bolts and Ny lock nuts. The tab sticks out the front and makes an excellent anchor point for the flag. The square tubing had to be used to space the tab up off the frame about 2 inches and the tab sticks out through grill slot.
