    Nothing to brag about..., yet.

LOL, already starting to get out of hand! I have my lift and tires showing up this next weel and have added myself to a couple of group buys on here as well. If I don't chill out I will wind up living in my truck when the wife sees what I have been up to.

Welcome. I have found that the key to this is telling the wife things cost about $100 or just say how much you saved. Never say what things actually cost. Just make sure you get your friends on the same page, bit me in thee ass once. She was bitching that I spent a grand on parts to rebuild my old race quad and a friend was nice enough to point out that the shocks sitting next to the quad parts cost twice as much. Didn't go over to well. Happy wife is a happy life.

Yeah I've already spent way too much and I'm about to buy some sliders and a roof top tent. I think it's a sickness. I got it when I signed up for the forums.

    Welcome BTW.

Lurking here from the ohio thread. We are kicking around a summer trip in MI. Would love some local help on where to go. And as usual, the more the merrier.

Petoskey and Harbor Springs is great. Lots to do there outdoor wise. My girlfriend currently lives on the East side in Tawas. It's not bad either but I like the West side better.

So are there any fabricators in state or nearby in Ohio/Indiana that make sliders for our trucks? I would rather take a road trip and spend the gas $ than pay for shipping, and I also enjoy supporting local businesses if possible. I've tried a Google search but haven't had much luck yet ...

I don't know of any that are local. I just got a quote from SOS Offroad Concepts for DCLB bolt on sliders. Shipping was only $100, less than I expected. Bonus, they are also having a 15% off sale until March 15.

All Pro is having a group buy on sliders right now, expires 3/4. If we get 20 members we get 20% off. that should make up for any shipping cost plus some.

    Get on it!

Awesome, thanks for all the recommendations :D

I guess local isn't going to happen, but that's okay because there are lots of great options to pick from ... now just to narrow it down and make up my mind lol.

So as I get closer and closer to needing new tires, I'm considering staying with the stock 265/65 R17 or going up one to 265/70 R17. If I go up I will put in a Hypertech speedometer calibrator. My big concerns are tanking my fuel economy, currently at 18.4mpg, and causing excessive wear on the drive train.

    Thoughts?

I've been running 265/75R16 vs the stock 245/75R16 that came with my truck for about 100k miles on mine right now. The speedometer is actually spot on from the up size, but the odometer is off about 5%. I've done a wheel bearing and two lower control arms under warranty for other issues. Brakes because of a warped rotor. And Drive shaft U-Joints about 5k miles ago, but 120k miles on U-joints is pretty good in my mind... Its not a huge tire size jump so you should be ok. I picked up some MPG by going bigger in tire size when I stuck to a P-rated tire... Now when I went with a LT-Rated Mud Terrain I lost about 2mpgs... All of this is with a 4cylinder 5 speed manual access cab 4 wheel drive.

I wouldnt be to worried about wear and tear unless you go to 33 inches and above

I think the tire size calculator says the 265/70R17 and 265/75R16 are 31.6 and are the biggest you can put on without rubbing. I've read the speed from my ECU and using a GPS for comparison and I'm spot on with the stock tires. I would love to do 245/75R17 but that's not an easy size to find stuff in, let alone the KO2s that I want. the 265/70R17 does come in a C load rating though so I can save 7.7 pounds per tire that way and still have a much stronger tire than I probably need.

Yeah those sizes are the biggest you can go on stock suspension. I have mine on a 2.5 inch lift and they still look ok. I would say load C is perfect just because its a little tougher to handle the pot holes and such, but not quite as heavy as a load E.. nice happy medium between P-Rate and LT E.

When I run GPS on mine its spot on to the speedo with the 265/75s

Sounds like I should stop overthinking it and just do the bigger tires.

Hey guys, new to the forum so I figured I'd post here and say hey. Moved out to MI from AZ in 2011 and just started hitting the dunes last year. If you see me around, wave me down and say hey. I only know @atvlifestyle as far as I know.

Yes sir, started building it when I was in college, haven't ever really finished it, I just keep fixing the next part to break. Coming in this season with a whole new front end. There's a few more photos in the new member thread I posted or Instagram if you're on there. I live in Ann Arbor, MI

That is one sweet machine. I work in AA. I would be too scared to let my truck fly. I think she would fold in half on landing. I'm focusing more towards an overland build.
