a local guy has a set of Mickey Thompson Classic III black rims size 17x9 for sale I was just wondering if anyone is using them? I have a 2016 trd OR with stock suspension and a lift really isn’t in the cards right now just wondering if these rims will work if I go with a 265/70/17?

According to Discount Tire, a 265/70/17 KO2 has a recommended rim width of 6.5-9 inches. So, Yes, it will work.

That said, the ideal rim width is probably closer to the middle of that range: 7.5-8.

I understand the quest for good looks, but at the end of the day I want my tires happy.

Ok thank you. I am new to this so it’s all a learning curve.

Now, if you were just a few weeks from buying some ginormous tires (say, 315's) then you could better justify the purchase. Of course, the 315's won't fit without a bunch of other mods, but you get my point.
