I have a Micro-Start XP-10 I purchased back in 2015, used once when the oem battery died and has been great insurance for my truck. Just recently I bought a Noco Boost Plus GB40 during the Prime Days sale so I figured I would move the XP-10 over to my wife's car. That was until I noticed the battery was swollen in the middle. Maybe four years is too long for these things? Maybe it should have been stored somewhere cooler? Regardless, it's going in the trash. Keep an eye out if you own one. Was thinking of looking into those fireproof battery bags to store the GB40 in.

    None yet!
    Mine did the same thing.
It was great while it lasted, I jump my 6bt Cummins with it, but I won't keep it in my house now.

Yeah, kind of scary. Searched Google and seems like there are a lot of others with the same issue.

is there some maintenance that was skipped? regular charge cycles prevent this?

There is no maintenance stated in the directions. It does say that it can hold a charge up to 6 months but should be checked every 2-3 months. I am wondering maybe it is more of a lifespan issue not sure.

that's what I'm figuring. i use my NOCO to occasionally charge a device to run it down a bit. seems i can charge 10,000 phones off this thing so i may end up the same. but 2 years in and all is well.

Maybe the Noco chargers aren't an issue, that's what I am hoping.
