Has anyone here had it? Or thought about getting it?

Of those who have gotten it, what kind of restrictions do you live with?

    * For repair of bulging or ruptured discs.

I do not know what this involves but most everyone I know that has had back surgery has not had the desired results.
If it is something to rid you of constant pain it may be worth it.
If there is any other option you might think of trying it.
    Best of luck to you.

ive already had it, just looking to see others experiences. Its been a month, so far no sciatica pain whatsover. Before surgery i couldnt walk for 5 mins at the grocery store. 1 month after i did about 5 miles yesterday... feeling good but still curious to see what the future holds...

I've had it 3 times on L4-L5. Twice in 03 and again in 08. And as a matter of fact had a MRI today cause its been bothering me again. Getting an epidural Wed and if that doesn't work then they will pull the disc out and fuse them. As far as restrictions go if u do the rehab after and exercise enough it shouldn't be a problem.

did you re injure? i think my doc is being very conservative. 10# limit now as of 4 weeks. at 12 weeks he will allow 40# at 6months he will allow 75# at 9-12months he will allow full activity (motorcycle, roller coasters, weight lifting again, etc)

My discs rutured due to an accident, not disc degeneration so i dont know if that makes a difference.

My first was ruptured at work. Got it fixed and went back to work to fast and reinjured it 6 months later. Got fixed again and took my time rehabbing it. Lasted about 5 years and hurt it again although it was some disc degeneration too. I've had a lot of arthritis around my scar but I've been cut on enough. Just follow docs orders even if it doesn't sound right...wish I had.
