Microphone not connected

Microphone not connected , Have this message on my entune radio on my 2015 tacoma....Bluetooth stop working because of this message on screen...Radio and nav still work.. Was adding the anytime front/rear camara mod..Tried with both harness and still comes up error.. Any ideas...........

 

Have you reset the unit? What's the harnesses look like?

 

Disconnected the battery again , got it working.........

 

Hmm, I’ve got the BT mic connected, 2015 head unit, 2005 SR truck, tried battery disconnect, still no joy. I’ll hunt for DCM but I don’t have anything else connected so maybe the head unit needs more of the ports populated?

Now I need to understand it... You're thinking the bt mic needs power and doesn't have it and doesn't get it from the radio directly?

 

From the info I have, the BT microphone has it's own power source, ground. Not part of the Head Unit at all, just linked to the Head Unit via BT.

I have an '05 SR PreRunner and this is a 2015 radio so for sure it's expecting connections I did not supply it. I bought the BT mic mentioned by others and plugged it into the radio (the connector snaps right in) but it still won't detect it as connected which speaks to it not having power? It sounds like one of the other radio connectors would supply power to the bluetooth mic through the head unit as a pass through? I only have the 10 and 6 pin, antenna and a sat antenna connected. It gets weather somehow, I'm guessing via over the air stuff on from the FM antenna or maybe the sat? Which is just shoved up inside the dash cavity but might get an OK signal.

Or, more simply, I have only 2 and the radio, no 4, no 3, no 1. On the left side I have all blanks right now, not even mirrors, though one day maybe I work on that. First priority is clutch start cancel, that one should be straightforward with the info I have.

I'm going to guess that 4 + 3 + 1 might cost more than a decent aftermarket head unit, though the primary purpose of OEM is theft deterrence. I don't actually need the bluetooth microphone to work, don't really need to make calls, just want to stream from the phone which requires pairing it which apparently with this radio requires the bt mic.
