Thanks to this thread I just installed installed some CDT Audio Unity 8.0 PLUS wideband drivers to replace the stock tweeters and some CL-69 SUBCF, with the their U-500 Crossovers. Driven by an Android Joying head unit.

Not an audiophile but for the price this setup sounds stellar and provides a nice, full sound with more than adequate bass for my needs. Really loving it so far!

I know this is an old post but I’m looking at installing my Morel tweeters on the A pillar. I’ve been using Velcro to test the pods in different spots. Looking at your tweeters, it appears there is a gasket or something between the tweeter and the pod. Did that come with your tweeters? I’m concerned the slight curve of the a pillar at that location will leave a gap without that gasket.

    edit: spelling

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps

Thanks, my morel tweeters came with little pods that will allow me to go pretty close to on axis. I just have to drill a 2in hole in the trim, then use the mounting hardware they came with. It looks like you had to build your own pods? How did you decide on the height?

I’ve been attaching mine with Velcro for now to test out different spots. The a pillar seems like the right choice.

yes, the pod rubber gasket came in the kit. I didn't have the experience nor patience installing the pod, you could end up with a small gap depending how you want to angle it(placement) but after awhile it doesn't bother me at all, lol. Although a custom job is way nicer, I wasn't about to spend that much money nor have a good know how like some do customizing their a-pillars.

I don’t know what the Unity 8 has to do with this but I’m pretty stoked with the setup I have. I’m just doing a more permanent install than Velcro.

Pochoboy - did you use a hole saw for the install? Any advice before I drill a 2 in hole in my a-pillar?

did not use nor do you have to use a hole saw with the Morel tweeter mount on the a-pillar where I mounted it. Its' just two screw holes needed to mount the tweeter holder in place

Slight upgrade from factory job. 5-10 increase in output, much better imaging, much clearer upper midrange
