    Looking for some help.

Bought a mid size bed rack for the short bed from TacomaBeast and was hoping to mount my 10ft kayaks but they’re too big and hitting the cab.

I don’t want to weld anything on my rack because I want to use it for a RTT eventually.

I’m looking to see if anyone has any ideas to raise the jbars some how so the kayaks can clear the cab. The rack is already as far back as it can go in the bed.

I inserted photos of the rack itself and then it on my truck with the jbars and without.

If not, maybe willing to trade for a roof rack.

    Thanks!

How long are kayaks? Can you just secure them down and let them extend off the back?

They’re 10ft each. And I did that before, but I wanted a cleaner look and I’m also afraid of damaging the kayak if I have it on the bed or someone rear ending me.

I'd just let them hang off the back. Once you get them above the roof they catch a lot of wind. Plus, you'll have to put on a $700+ roof rack. It would have to be a semi truck rear ending you to damage them.
