Waatt. I didn't even know Pelfrey made a shock hoop... Now I have more decisions to make, thanks.:D Anyone have a clue what the advantages would be with pelfrey's shock hoop over other relocation brackets like BAMF? It appears the pelfrey doesn't go through the bed though maybe the bed has to be taken off for the complete install?

Yea, Pelfrey discontinued the product. The way Tyler made it to work with hydrobumps is awesome.

Chris this is a hoop vs tower. Both work with the 12" shock.

Removal of the bed isnt necessary with the BAMF but makes this so much easier if you do.

That explains why I didn't know it existed... Hmm. I am fond of the hoop-design, it seems like it would be stronger than a tower/bucket. Don't know if anyone else makes a hoop. However I haven't heard anything but good things about the Bamf bracket so can't go wrong there I suppose.

I saw that, and seeing as I am in line for his shackle flip, I'm holding out to see how his looks. I really like the shackle flip, he seems to make some great stuff. Just gotta wait for all-pro to restock the Expo leafs and have a sale for free shipping. Patience is not my strong suit.o_O

Thanks Jon. Didn't pull the bed to install mine. But I needed to this time to get the rust on the backside of the hoops. So much room with the bed off. So many ideas!

Right! I was instructed by @loco to pull the bed to deal with the frame rivets and cutting the OEM shock mount. Im very glad I did (especially to finish the frame plating and new xmember)

Checked out the rear on mine. It's definitely shocks being my harsh ride and impact issue. I jacked the passenger side rear as far as I could while dropping the driver side. Not even close to touching the bump stop let alone compressing it. Bottoms of the bumps were still dusty from the last time I went off-roading :anonymous:

I drooped it out fully as well. I could easily get 3" more droop with longer shocks. I had to unbolt my shock bottoms to get to the zerk on my rear link. So I took some measurements for rear kings while it was compressed and extended.

Well it's not a hoop design actually but it is designed to:
    -Fit 2.5" rod end shocks
    -handle 14" travel (23.4" compressed)
-handle 12" travel with higher ground clearance (20.4" compressed
-shock tabs designed with proper clearance around rods ends
It's probably 2 months away from being available

Thanks for the update. Last I read I thought you were leaning towards a hoop but maybe I was mistaken.

Regardless, excited to see what you come up with.

Jeez, I leave for the weekend someone else comes in and gets butthurt lol. I didn't even need to be here for it to happen.

I'll have you know I rocked a custom Avid front bumper for like a year and loved that thing. I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on Avid's new tire carrier for the bed, but decided to go a different direction. But love the way it looks. Have never been a customer with SDHQ yet, and I say yet because I may need a part from them some day, but so far I've always found what I need elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure my front end has settled has much it's going too; now i'm ready to get the lift back. What's the best way to do this? Longer springs or just cranking the coils?

Will someone also explain the correlation between up/down travel and how much your coilovers are adjusted? I remember seeing something about this a couple moons ago. Thanks fellas.

Search this thread, its been talked about many times. The more preload you have the less down travel you end up with.
