For mid travel, around $1500 and that’s only for front

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

    HUH? o_O

You've obviously never had shocks re-built. Sending them in and having them done is nowhere near that. And a lot of people who have coil overs just learn to do it themselves. The parts (seals, o-rings, etc) don't cost much at all. You could do a set of front coilovers for about a hundred bucks.

Yeah, I stopped when he mentioned the whole "doing it yourself, tools, etc" when that's not even the case.

Don't think he's ever owned and/or rebuilt any.

I've heard long travel isn't worth the hassle if it's your daily driver. Mid travel will still accomplish a lot.

I just do not, and will not, ever understand why someone would want to be anywhere near 4 wheeling a vehicle and not know how to work on their own shit. It makes absolutely no sense to me what so ever.

Stock can accomplish a lot; people just need to gain experience and get out there.

This whole OvErLaNdInG marketing shit has got people so caught up in the idea that you have to buy all these things to make you capable when heading down the road least traveled.

Love my kings. Rebuildable is an asset, not a liability as others seem to think. Keep your stock struts and throw the truck on spacers and stock while rebuilding and you can revalve to make the truck handle however you want. Do it right once.

    Agree.

I just hate when it's messy AF; you should've seen my arms last week.

Being covered 100% from fingertips to past your elbows in a concoction of old oil, ATF, and gear oil while having crusties fall on your face (eyepro was worn) as you pull off a power steering pump with lines attached is not fun.

Long Travel is a lot of hassle... but it depends on if your daily driver also does fun shit on the weekend.

Long Travel would definitely be dumb for a rig that doesn't get used, extensively, off road.

Or just buy another set and swap them when you get them rebuilt.

Bro!... That's when you start feeling ALIVE!

No... It can get frustrating, and redundant, and defeating... but then you get the project finished, and you wheel it, you get the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.

The reason I don't understand it though... is if you're going to put yourself in a situation of breaking... you'd better know how to fix what you broke. Or, at least have an understanding of it. The only way to do that is to work on it yourself. Something as basic as a lift... or in this case pulling and reinstalling a set of coilovers... if you have to pay someone to do that, sell the damn truck. (There aren't any excuses that cover this)

Had bought new Fox 2.5's for the Tacoma

Months later I bought new King 2.5's hoping I'd swap them out and find what I liked more

Well, extra car parts turn into extra cars so I got a 4Runner and put Kings on that

    This hobby :bananadead:

As I was actually doing the LT install... which can be quite a pain in the ass. I just kept repeating to myself.

"Race truck parts come with race truck problems"

If you get to do the type of shit that necessitates race truck parts and race truck problems... it's 100% worth it, and you're livin life
