The Dremel works fine btw, just gotta keep moving. If you sit in a spot too long it will burn the paint, like any blade

yea the sheet metal im not too worries about since it will be covered by the flare. i just dont want to mess up the flare by melting the plastic with a cut-off wheel

I used a Dremel sawmax and adjusted the blade depth low so I could have a better turn without eating into the sides too much (bigger the blade hole the harder the curve is) and used a regular Dremel to finish off the ends

I'm getting a battery powered jigsaw and then hitting up the Walmart parking lot to practice on some Hondas first

But in all seriousness how does the ruler method work? The ruler is always at the base in the center? Then just rotate left and right similar to a compass?

I'm just thinking the furthest right point and left point are over 12 inches from the center I suppose I'll have to try it first and buy a quality jig saw

If you dig back enough in the 35s thread you will see full writeups on the cutting.

I'm more than likely going to cut mine with a jigsaw.

So I think the outer fender and flare will be easy with care, now what about the inner part? Example below
