No I have 2 associates degrees

 

It is kind of like boot camp but instead of becoming an enlisted, you become and officer. Pay is better but the jobs aren't as fun

 

Damn and here all this time I thought you were an engineer

 

Oh and it is a longer, Coast Guard it is 17 weeks vs the 8 weeks for basic training

 

Why is it longer for the "Knee deep Navy?"

 

It's the associates engineering. Should've just went 2 more years in it to be fully called an engineer

 

There is this program that the Coast Guard offers, where if you have 2 years left to your bachelors, you go to boot camp the summer before your last 2 years of school. Graduate from basic as an E-3 and get paid to go to school full time. So E-3 pay plus Basic Allowance for Housing and Food. Comes to maybe 3k a month. Once you graduate with your bachelors you are GUARANTEED Officer Candidate School so you go to OCS and come out and officer making a lot more money. Depending on the location you may do some training one weekend each month. You have to go to a certain school so if you can find one near you that qualifies that would be good. Here is more info.

That's awesome. I'll look more into that when I get off work. I'm going to talk to my dad some since he was in the Air Force and see what his opinion is about my decision

 

You could do ROTC as well but the benefits and pay won't be as good

My CCs always said the Air Force was a cake walk

 

Wife showed me her "dorm room" with a semi-private bath when we first met and I laughed so hard when she told me how tough it was because they only had basic cable.
