If you are headed that way than maybe you should buy 700# but I really don't think you will need them until you have that weight added.

I have no more than 3/4 inch from Top hat to coil nut. Driver side is the one thats loaded up that much. This is what Kings recommendations are.

Can you take a pic of each side when you get a chance?

It's easier to measure. Are you wanting to add more preload to yours?

No just wanting to make sure it's not over preloaded.

Well a picture of mine won't help that lol. You've got to get a tape measure and go out and measure it. It's not hard to do. Pretend it's your penis but don't add a few inches to the measurements. :)

I'm just telling you what King told me. It's a guideline and I know a lot of people that have loaded up more. You start to sacrifice droop and gain bump.

Based on what you're gonna do as far as armor I would go with the 700lb coils and minimize your preload. I'm sure you plan on full skids at some point but with the bumper, IFS skid, winch, sliders, and you in the driver seat, you will have max adjustability without putting much preload at all on the coils. Plus the body roll won't be an issue with the 700lb coils.

Exactly what I was thinking! I'm just ready to see what the Kings can do!

@loco went a similar route with the 650's at first but started adding weight and moved to the 700's. IIRC he wished he went straight to the 700's to avoid the extra cost of swapping out coils not to mention the time involved of swapping coils on the Kings.

don't waste your time with 650lbs, go straight to 700s. And for the record you are no-where near having too much preload.

no worries man, you'll like the firmness of the 700s but still be able to stuff to your bumpstops when the truck is really crossed up.

Also, don't even try to use a rented spring compressor for those 700s. Just pay to have a shop with a wall mounted compressor do it.
