So I'm looking at total chaos expedition stock length LCAs. I understand the LCAs take up to a 2.5 shock; is that the secondary shock?

Also should the shock have a bypass? I currently have a Ironman 4x4 foam cell pro lift that I haven't had any issues with. Part of me wants to experiment and run a foam cell shock as my secondary shock. Is this unheard of; thoughts?

Hello. From my understanding, as long as there’s two shock mounts, a secondary shock can be mounted to the arm. You would be able to fit a 2.5 inch shock on both ends. If ur gonna go to the effort of doing the whole secondary shock setup, you might as well get bypasses and probably longer arms. Shiz ain’t cheap. But how are your ironmans? I’ve been looking into getting some myself. Also I’d only get secondary shocks if I were doing a lot of high speed off road, and had a plan for the rear to match.

You really should contact TC to see what shocks they designed the arms for. You do understand that you need to get their upper shock mount fir dual shocks. I think using your foam cells would just be a waste of time and money.

The secondary bypass shock would actually be your main damper as you have more tunibilty with zone control. The coilover becomes mainly just a spring holder. TC should have a tuned set of shocks already for it.

In the past dual shocks set ups were made because there wasn't a single shock that could handle it but that's all changed now with what was mainly race shocks back then avaliable for stock applications now.

Sorry for the late reply I've been road tripping. I love my Ironman set up and for what I use it for it's been great. But I'm not sure it will handle the Khaya camper that's why I'm looking at upgrading or maybe adding airbags.might be over kill..but I rather have it then not
