Holy biased. Lmao. So why doesn't he go find the most expensive tundra in his zip code? And the most expensive Ford and Chevy and dodge? Logic:bananadead:

I agree.. when I'm driving around all I'm looking at is f150s, duramax, rams, powerstrokes, tundra and tacos. I don't even notice rangers or canyons and xterras are silly looking..

If you want a big truck you got Detroit and you got tundras. If you want midsize you buy a Tacoma. THAT'S WHY THEY ARE $48000!!

The funny thing is even in the 40k range the truck is still worth that because they don't break and they don't leak. Period...

I drove a 1997 F150XLT for 5 years. Was it big and loud? Yes

Did it have tons of towing and bed space? yes

Did I need the huge bed and big motor? no

On certain occasions it was nice but I don't tow a boat or trailer, all I need is to fit 2 dirt bikes which it does

My coworker hates on me for my "mid sized" truck. He has a 16' Ecoboost, it fit his needs but for me I'm satisfied with my Taco

Not a decent trail capable fullsize and why buy bigger if you don't want or need it. I get asked why I didn't buy bigger and say the same thing. It's a fad, when I was a kid there were mainly reg cab pickups and ext cab with most vein midsize. The ranger was a big player, Nissan used to be and Toyota has and will always be a player. We made out just fine back then. Make me a damn reg cab, manual hubs, tranny and transfer case. Add some metal back in the cab and make it look like a late 70s early 80s toyota pickup. Chevys new Silverado resembles the headlight pattern from the 1988 model but stays flat in the front somewhat similar to the squarebodys. If Toyota can achieve this I'd be at the dealer with my deposit.

Midsize trucks are the smallest trucks available. No small trucks anymore.
I had a 1991 Chevy S10, 4 cyl- 5 speed manual, 2wd no AC or power steering! 25 to 30 mpg all day long. Single cab,. 6' bed. Great truck except it started to fall apart after about 6 years. Dodge Dakota owned midsize in the 80's- 90's. Now they don't make them and midsize is the new small truck.

I prefer to drive small- today I was driving in Philadelphia, and I had to negotiate some really tight spaces. Glad I wasn't driving an F150. The 6' bed is manageable. Just driving in general is easier- merging, turning, passing, all more comfortable in a smaller rig.

I had a 2012 Tundra and a 2015 Tundra great work Trucks but gas mileage was Horrible!! I downsized to the Tacoma and it towes my 2,600 pound Landscaping Trailer every day with ease... I get 160 miles more on a tank of gas in my Tacoma that's a Major Difference!! I filled up the tank on the Tundra every other day felt like I was working just to put gas in my Tank!! So my Midsize Tacoma does the Job well for me and saves me a shit load at the pump....

I had a 2011 Ram 1500 4x4 club cab with the 4.7 V-8 and easily got 20mpg everywhere, lot of hwy driving. It was a very nice truck, but for some reason I absolutely love my little 4-banger SR that has trouble getting out of its own way.

Now that I figured out how to haul plywood it is very useful.

Side note after the 2011 Ram, I got a 2012 GMC 1500 4.8 V-8 extended cab 4x4 and I got 14mpg doing the same driving. Both were rentals.

The bed on my access cab is just about the same size as my old Tundra double cab. I do small carpentry jobs and I can do them with my Tacoma.

A fullsize is in reality just not that much bigger than today's midsize trucks.

Make a fist. Look at it.

That's about how much wider an F150/Ram/Siverado/Tundra is than a current midsize (~74-75 inches vs ~79 inches width)

Even so they feel massively larger on the inside.

I recently was seriously thinking about a brand new Wrangler Rubicon, since my Bronco was just SOOO big.

Test drove a "Dealer Prettied lift and tires" one home and parked it right in front of the Bronco.

Dang, they looked awful close in width, but the Bronco had MUCH more room inside?

Got a piece of CPVC pipe out of the basement and marked the width of the Bronco from the outside edges of the tires and did the same with the Wrangler.

Around 4 inches difference (both on 35's).

The way EPA CAFE standards are written, it doesn't make sense to manufacturers to build the true midsize trucks anymore (CAFE calculated on area encompassed by the 4 tires or something to that effect. Could Google but no coffee yet)

Be careful parking in the rear. If she isn't expecting it, it could cause some trouble ;-)

The big selling point for me was the 6MT. It and the Jeep are the only worthwhile offroad oriented vehicles that offer manuals on the market right now.

Regardless, writer of that article is trolling

The only reason I bought a mid-size truck is that a new small truck, like the Mazda B-2000 I used to own, is no longer made.

It is a cool toy. The author probably drives a Prius and trolls all the truck message boards.
