I’ve been playing for 30 years. There is a course at Base Camp Adventure that I want to check out. All depends on our location. This is all for later in the week when we are starting to head back. I always have a few extra discs. Always got to hit a few courses when I travel. I definitely was thinking of throwing my bike in the back. I got fatty street tires on for Chicago riding. What kind of tire would you recommend out there. I’m in need of a new set.

Been a while since I've read the latest over here. Looks like it's gonna be a good crew and you guys are gonna have a blast! I wish I could go but it won't work for me this year.

A couple of you mentioned you might want to upgrade stock skids. This deal is $100 cheaper than the deal I got last fall if you're looking for something budget friendly but still heavy duty with decent coverage: https://ironman4x4america.com/heavy-duty-skid-plate-kit-suited-for-2005-toyota-tacoma/

I am bringing my fat bike-its all I ride anymore. You on 26, 27.5 or 29's? Kenda small block 8 would be fantastic out there. Not sure beyond that. I bet you could Google and get a million different opinions... I would buy a tire for where I ride and just enjoy

Just stumbled across this thread, mind if I join on the 26th for Fins & Hells? I live about an hour and a half away in Colorado, but I need to be at work on Monday morning.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Saw this post...well damn. Was going to do sliders first...these may get ordered by the end of the week...:spending:

edit: These skids aren't really 3/16 if they are 4mm. The difference is .030" (about .75mm) less than 3/16 but I would guess they are still beefy enough.

See you at the trailhead. We'll have to determine a time. I would like to be on the trail by 8 am to do both on the same day.

Edit: Changed the time from 9am to 8am.

Heh, yeah, math checks out, but they feel like they're 1/2" when you're laying under the truck with one on your chest. They are beefy and they held up well in Tigerton.

Fair warning... you do have to remove 2 of the 3 to do an engine oil and filter change. Not too big of a deal, but makes the job take a bit longer when you're doing it yourself. There was a bit of a debate here about skid plates with access panels for oil changes and the consensus seemed to be that they're not very practical and you'll likely have to remove the whole plate most of the time anyway.

Would love to have you join for the day! I'm thinking of being at the trail heads around 8 everyday. We haven't really discussed times as of yet, so keep an eye on the 2nd post. I'll get times in the schedule before the trip starts.

I think the average highs are low to mid 60's during the day. Thinking about joining?
