I have both. A-trac is neat, but the locker is the only thing that's ever gotten me out of a jam. I'd trade A-trac, MTS, and crawl for another locker any day of the week.

We can add Lockhart trail to the potential trail list. I'll check out info on it.

I agree. I haven't been overly impressed with ATRAC. It really hasn't helped me either. I'd rather have a front locker!

I didn't intend to start a locker vs A-Trac discussion. I agree a locker is the way to go. But since I only have A-Trac, I use what I have available. The A-T worked when I needed it. There were numerous places that I could not navigate in 4L only. Push the A-Trac button and off we went. I was impressed how well it worked.

Lockhart Basin is another one of those "BTDT and ain't doin' it again" trails for me. It was the funnest day of wheelin' we had. My 4R probably has a different opinion. She got beat up pretty bad.

Hope everyone is well. I am going to follow this sub. I am absolutely interested and the timing would work for me. I would be heading out of Chicago. It would be great to roll out across the country with some friends and knock this off the list.

Be happy to have you join. Won't be much action in here till next year but wanted to get some dates up so people can plan.

I turned in my vacation slip for next year. It includes dates in September for Moab.

LOL, after all of Moab…a flat. Gotta love it. What ended up being the cause? Don’t tell me it was the Home Deport parking lot haha. Repairable?

Earlier on this thread, I was encouraging rubbersidedown to go to Moab even if his armor situation wasn't perfect. You gotta grab life, right? Maybe you have a picture or two of your armor to show us there’s nothing to worry about? ;):D

Turns out the tire was simply low on air. I guess I misread the gauge when I departed Moab.

As for the armor... um, err....yeah, it worked well!! It's not dented or dinged, (the 1/4" plate seems indestructible) but has many, many scrapes.

Seriously, if your rig doesn't have sliders and skids, stay off of the red trails in the guidebook. You will still have a blast doing the green and blue trails.

P.S. Are the vids in my Moab 2022 Vids thread working? The lack of replies has me concerned that something isn't right loading the vids.

    @Supr4Lo

I got this from Amazon yesterday.
Get some ideas on other trails.
I can bring it along tomorrow if you want to look at it.

Yes, bring it along. I have the 3rd edition and it worked great for our last trip. I was going to recommend that everyone get that guide.

I have the Utah and the Colorado guide book, too. The Arizona book is on my X-mas list this year as well.

I had a situation last year on the Boulder Lake trip, where my rear tire was down to 8 PSI in the morning. I thought I had a leak. Topped it off and it held air since then. I wonder if some debris got in the valve, and then cleared out when I topped it off again. :notsure:

I bet it was exactly that! Especially considering all the bits of dried mud and dust the can mess the seal on the valve.

Lately, when I air up, Ive been leaving the compressor running and I use the air to blow out dust from around the valve stem before uncapping it. I have no idea if that will prevent any issues, or if it’s bad for the pump to run without a load.

Either way, it’s less back and forth switching on and off lol , and the lazy is strong. :p

Jason, I stumbled onto this Lockhart Basin video. Hope you like it. This part 2 vid shows the hardest parts of the trail. Fwd to 13:50 where the difficult parts start. Believe me , the vid does this trail no justice.

No issues running a pump with no load. Won’t hurt a bit. Pump’s create flow. Resistance to flow creates pressure.
