The thing is, people question cost of recovery gear all the time and why don't you buy this brand or that because it is cheaper. If I'm buying something that is intended to save my ass I'm more than happy to pay more for something that I know is going to do the job and not run into issues or causing an even bigger problem.

Good point. but if the specs are all there, the reviews are good and the company stands behind their product I'm willing to take the cheaper route.

That's a perfectly acceptable thing to do. I have hands on work experience with how well the WARNs work so I personally wouldn't go with anything else.

I also would like to reiterate @Shellshock statement from earlier about all the training. If you don't have any training with winches I would highly recommend finding some kind of course to go through that has hand on experience.

On this topic, has anyone used an engo winch? I have read that the quality is good and they perform well. Price is very reasonable, but wouldn't want to regret it later.

Will do. Though a winch is low on my list atm. Lockers would be further up.

Shoot. I didn’t have to convince her, I asked and she said it was cool. Problem is I just got home from being out all day (4 am wake up, wahh), work and memorial.
I’m 5.45 hours from the potosi brewery. I might try to get up at 6 am. Might. I’ll post in the morning. Going to try and rack out now.

@Shellshock do you sleep lol I always see you on the forums

Nah he just uses his bed as a comfy place to look at TW and then message me about something when I’m trying to sleep.

I have used the Engo occasionally over 4 years. The only failing is the control box, it is made of plastic and leaked, thus rotting every thing inside. Last year I had to replace the entire solenoid control box for $77 delivered (not a bad price really, the new “solenoids” are solid state), and repositioned it higher above the high water line. All is good so far. So for less than $400 delivered, I got a 10,000 lb synthetic line winch. Yes I give it a for the price recommendation.

On the topic of winches, in general, it’s usually faster to have a buddy pull you out.

    New control box position/mount.

Just got back from the TWAT with @Thatbassguy and @ajmogen (and @Cav_BluTRD ditched us ;))

Ran just shy of 100 miles before we called it a day. We made it to Lansing and found out the bridge was closed so decided that was a sign we’d find far enough. Overall the TWAT definitely exceeded my expectations

Pretty smooth sailing for the day… well aside from when @Thatbassguy decided to pick up a pebble in his brake rotor shield

That was more of a jab at him. I just got a package from Adams polishes earlier this week and he offered to pay me to clean his interior because it’s covered in dust now.

Haha! I need to hire someone to dust my 4runner, also. Thinking of trying some sort of swiffer duster or something.

I hate detailing cars. Takes me all day and I always miss something
