this is my cornhusker slop before i hosed it all off, there is no FF or any spray in this section, just a couple coats of extreme primer
i do not get deep underneath to wash in the winter so the FF will do a great job as you demonstrated

i am also trying to find a product to apply to my old body panels to keep the corrosion from starting or spreading
what do you use again to protect these areas?

garden hose aint taking this slop off.jpg

Yup, that’s how mine looks with ff at any given point during our winters (just as harsh, with salt) and I don’t fret about it because I know a melt with wet weather will/has wash(ed) it off. For the panels, I haven’t put anything on them until you mentioned something about that earlier this season. When I applied my yearly ff this oct, I sprayed a little of that on the rockers. Ultimately though the best thing in my opinion is when you have salt caked on the outside, go to a brushless car wash. I’m a fan of brushless because those big long hanging cloth straps that first hit everyone’s cars has to have small rocks and crud that just gets spread and scratches everyone’s cars that they touch. Also, I figure like I said before on counter productivity that anything I’ve put on my rockers has been washed away from my few car washes I’ve done.

i can never get the scum off of my black paint in the touchless or even the wand wash, i ALWAYS have to sponge by hand to get it clean
i rarely do auto washes with the cloth brushes just as you mentioned
thanks to @Shellshock discovery of some Texas product called 'salts gone' i don't think i have to do so much to keep it shiny, but i have only used it once so far this winter season

    spot free rinse only

what do you think of BOE Shield on the front suspension parts, i read the directions about it forming a wax-type of coating and that TW people in CO use it to protect their expensive suspension parts from whatever rust they get there from basic snow and water

upon inspection of front suspension i had sprayed with FF on one side and CF 3000 on the other BOTH failed at the top of the UCA at the forward facing side where i obviously blasted it off while power rinsing that area the other week. it was just plain dry ungreasy metal

i have seen other UCAs in the local salvage lots of similar age and some at higher mileage that were probably rarely hosed off and had gotten extremely crusty. Mine really only have small spots around that i am planning on touching up with some POR-15 or other paint over rust product sometime this year. I attribute the better than average appearance of these UCAs by not allowing the mucky slop to just sit there and dry up to pure salt.

... this is like a never-ending circle :annoyed:
i did drizzle enough FF over the bare spots on both sides to cover this next storm brewing, it maybe raining first which means no brine junk put down! .. just the other ice melt chemical after they plow the streets

some smaller towns still use sand, like Nebraska City did when i was checking to see if they were still there, sand all over the main street
