Meant to do fluid film this year. Then the StL schedule got thrown sideways ... Deff going to do it before next winter though. These pics are amazing

As far as GQ's rear main seal leak.... If you know the right people (i do) with a good shop (yup) that are fair and trustworthy (check) a rear main seal ain't bad. It was basically a non issue on my '95 Pathfinder.

One of the reasons I've made you several offers despite the "problems" your 23+ year old truck has is that I trust my people, and I trust myself.

Most of the issues your truck has, you can learn to fix no problem, and we highly encourage this. It's fun, plus it lets you really "own" your truck.

give you 3 fiddy for it ALL

need pics in the rear wheel wells if you have them??, thats basically the main issue i had with it on mine, perhaps our trucks are built different in that area regarding splash effect
i was not aware it may be best to smother it (FF) with dirt so it (FF) has another barrier, but then you cannot really see through it? IDK?

there has been NO water or rain here to drive on for months now to test anything on my truck :rain:

what i sprayed on the front suspension area still looks like a million bucks from afar

Timing belt needs attention too. That's one maintenance item I wouldn't skip

(Even if your mechanic tells you it looks fine)

You said it wasn't done because your mechanic said it looked good

    Which is it?

the one currently on has not been inspected from taking the top cover off, i just looked at the original one i had in a big baggie from the 90k change a long time ago
it was my nephew that said the old one did not show much wear for that kind of mileage on it compared to the new belt i bought from Camelback recently.

i cannot believe the upcharge on some of these OEM parts they do around here.
buying the belts, WP, thermostat etc. from Camelback i have saved at least $90 from the parts quotes i was getting locally

this is a high splash area on mine where nothing would stick
maybe its because its still barren of any paint or frame coating, just naked Toyota genuine steel i was cleaning off for a better quality coating that resists chemicals and chips 3x better

anyhow, the absent and mild winter here is basically over now, will try this FF again this summer or fall

    CF 3000 pass ~ 3.jpg

from the driver side with slop and just a couple coats of good quality primer on

garden hose aint taking this slop off.jpg

i like to hose this off all the time, not just let it sit and cook

I had the belt changed in my is300 then I get it back and they are like your throw out bearing is going bad

…that would have been nice to know WHEN THE MOTOR AND TRANS WERE OUT OF THE CAR

I tend to flush the frame out too on the inside whenever it stops being sloppy out. And the door panels.

Since Aug 2018. It lived most of its life way up north, so it came with some rust.

But I've been dealing with salty vehicles off and on my whole life. Its so dumb.

The timing belt in my '03 4runner looked like new when I inspected it at around 100K. Not so much at 240K when I finally replaced it.

If you're wondering why I waited so long, it was a combination of being broke and stupid.

I got a little nauseous when I saw it. If I had waited much longer, I would have been in big trouble.
