Ceramic coating added to add life to her. Goal of 500k. Arb Front differential locker added. Dropped the clamshell on my ankle and got a hairline fracture..fun next few weeks limping around.

 

Supercharger added a few years back. Truck had 130k at the time. Stepped down to a 2.825 pulley soon after. Took some work to make the coolant pump work with the winch and had to move the air compressor around to make room for an afe stage two air box. .
Truck drowned in 8ft of water 4 months later due to my own fault. First time I ever swam out my window though so there is that. Rebuild and dry out process took a week. Burns more oil now but otherwise going strong still

 

Urd maf calibrator, wide band and boost gauge added along with a dt y pipe when I got back to NY from California. Truck died in Ohio with misfire codes. Visual inspection didn't show much. I limped it home and got it in the lift the next day. Couldn't find any problems but had a y pipe to install so started working on that and found a busted cat was my problem. Urd rear o2 simulators added after gutting the other cat..

 

Trans slipping and rumbling now and then. Added a ratiotek shift kit.

 

Hp tuners released for my truck. Quickly purchased, plus 650cc fuel injectors from fic, and stepped down to a 2.6 pulley

 

Quickly found that with the new set up I could max out the maf sensor for what it can read. Checked urd for a 76mm throttle body adapter and they are sold out. Decided to make my own. Upped the intake tubing size to 3.5", added a tundra maf sensor and run a lightly modified tundra air map. Added tundra throttle body. Ported the supercharger mouth to 70mm. Polished my adapter to match the new throttle body and charger mouth

 

A group buy was started for cam gears with 3° of retard. something I always wanted to add to the truck but didn't want to spend the money on uconn to get it. They ended up all being machined wrong. Not one to take it and give up, I decided to try and re machine some myself. . It worked! Data log showed increased knock threshold and I gained about 16 miles per tank. The truck gained great power in the mid to low range.
Valve covers painted red at time of install.

 

With the extra power comes extra heat. Csf radiator added along with a 160° thermostat. Wrapped the aluminum part of the intake in fiberglass to help with idling intake temps.

 

Traction bar added. Didn't want to sacrifice ground clearance so went with custom job. Mounted to the crossbar that supports the carrier bearing and gusseted the crossbar for extra strength.

 

Guy came into our shop and wanted a bumper, we did this for him over the course of the next week.

 

Kelford cams picked up. Decided it's time for a new engine. Found a 2015 with 26700 miles on it. Bought a stroker kit and sleeves too. No idea what I'm doing but its the best way to learn. Going to try and fully build this engine then swap it in.

 

Initial inspection shows this thing is CLEAN! Compression tested at 180.
Urd headers purchased. Claim is these headers wouldn't fit a 2015 but with arp studs they will work just fine. The 2nd air injection system would be in the way but being mine is 09, I won't be using that. Added some paint for flair and corrosion resistance

 

Nice wrinkle finish. Nst pullies added too. Roush tensioner added for the supercharger when the swap happens.

 

Front cover removed and passenger head pulled. Kelford cams and springs installed. Viton valve seals added. They seem to want to go in crooked. I put a 10mm socket and an extension over them with the valve lowered but in place to guide them on straight. Found that to work best with light hammer taps on the extension to get them to seat.

 

Extent to which machining was needed wasn't clear to me. These water jackets need to be completely machined to make room for the Darton sleeves out as they are part of the block. I thought they were press fitted but I was wrong. Oh well, a minor road block.

Engine back with the sleeves and lower assembly installed. Got it back back together and going for install next weekend.

 

Nice! Where did you find oversized head gaskets? What volume increase do you have now over the original 4.0?
