Hey guys. Been a Toyota guy for many years, just getting back into the forum thing again. I’m a Canuck, from Alberta and BC. I wheel as much as I can in this thing. And I’ll be starting to plan some southbound trips, so hope to meet some of you. I have a 00 trd AC right now, and it will become a 98 trd AC stick shift over the winter. Good frame on the 00, bad cab, bad frame on the 98, awesome cab. Typical 1st gen, right? I’ve posted a fair bit on some of the fb groups, and I’ve got this thing on IG as @project_pos_taco with a fair bit of exploring and wheeling pics. Cheers! B

Got a couple other Toyota’s too. May as well make mention of that. 02 4runner sport edition.

 

And an 01 prerunner that we got for $1200. I have everything I need to swap it to 4wd. Except excess time. Now that winters hit us, the exploring will likely slow down, and give me time to get it completed.

 

Here’s the parts truck. It’s a 98, and an SR5 TRD. Sunroof, with original shade still, and the full load interior. 270k km’s. This cab will be going on my 00. Same with motor, trans, 5 speed stick, and assorted pieces. The front end will go under the dc for the wifey. The frame is too far gone on this to fix, so it will die that others may live!!

 

And yes. They're all red. Even the 2wd parts truck I bought was red. I hate red. lol. I'll be playing with colors when I re-work them.

Funny that you don't like red and they all ended up being red, haha....is that just coincidence that the ones you found were the same color or do you secretly really love red??

I never liked red either but I found my red 04 in 2016 with only 24k miles on it...so I couldn't be picky about the color. It's grown on me though

 

@eon_blue I couldn't say no to the deals I found!! I plan to do the dc in a blue, and something bright for mine.

Red is my least favorite color, but when I stumbled onto the listing for my Taco when it was first posted up for sale, I jumped on it and figured “color be damned!”

I love the fact that you are also gaining a factory sunroof in the swap. Too cool!

 

@MagtechPA at the age of these trucks, I try to find good frame, or at least the trd/SR5 package. Like you say, colour, and pretty much anything else, be damned! I love the sunroof. Had them in almost all my vehicles. And very happy, and lucky to have found this one.
