    Honda had a scandal going, where the odometers racked up mileage higher than the actual mileage, presumably so vehicles would go out of warranty sooner.

    Buddies of mine that owned gm trucks always registered higher mileage over the same 500 mile distance than my toyotas did when we took snowmobile trips into quebec. We finally did comparisons against a measured mile. It ended up being that these gm vehicles were slightly off reading more than actual.
