My 2013 is at 82147, which is pretty low compared to other late model 2nd Gen's that I've seen, but I have a question about parts longevity. From my research and Carfax reports, the previous owner took good care of it with regular service. The truck itself is very clean. What are some mileage/year landmark recommendations for things that may need to be changed out such as fluids, plugs, etc etc. on these trucks? I bought the truck from a reputable dealership who stated they did a full service and inspection of the truck, but you never really know how in-depth they went. My old patrol car was a Dodge Charger Hemi and 75-80k miles is when things start falling apart, but on Tacomas it seems like they're just getting broken in.

Do the service records say when or if the Transmission, Transfer Case, or Differentials were serviced?

    If not, change the fluids.
The plugs are recommended to be changed every 30k.
(Yes, I go longer. But I’m not telling you to) - Just answer a question that will likely be asked.

Then cooling system @10 years or 100k.
(I also change the serpentine belt at this time)

I don't recall, I'll have to dig them out to see, but I don't remember seeing anything about the drivetrain being serviced. I think I'll go ahead and do the fluids next oil change/service. Thanks for the recommendation on the cooling system and belt too.

Do everything at 90k, like nothing was ever done. Ie, tranny, coolant, brake fluid, ps fluid, diffs etc. then just follow the maintenance schedule accordingly.

I just had my 2013 TRD OR truck serviced when I had the frame warranty CRC treatment at 107k. I have owned it since new. I had front, rear, and transfer case fluids changed along with coolant flush, serp belt and spark plugs changed. Pretty much it's all been fluid changes, a front brake job, battery, and tires since buying it. Best truck ever. I also make sure to grease the spare tire mechanism, grease the gas door hinges & check rear diff breather occasionally. I never did the relocation mod.

I have been trying to grease the zerks on the drive train when changing my oil, as other members here have recommended. When the Mobil 1 grease is gone I'm going to be using Lucas red "N" tacky grease.

Do you have the owner's manual? If so, the recommended service schedule is in it.

I wouldn't assume that just because it was dealer serviced it had the recommended work done. If you have the full records just compare them to what's listed in the manual and address any items that weren't taken care of with the next oil change at 85,000 miles.

Oh ya, you can sign up for toyota owners on toyota.com that will give you all service records done previously by dealer for VIN. I even put the ones in manually for services done outside of dealer like new tires etc.
