    I changed my front pads and rotors at 117k, rear drums were fine. I could have left everything alone and went another 20k most likely on the front

    Not necessarily. I knew the brakes were bad, but just didn’t know if it was the front or rear and decided to do them both at the same time. Yeah, it clearly wasn’t the front brakes that were bad.

    Anyway, dunno why the OP’s brakes were so bad at less miles. Unless it’s 90% off-road and mountain driving.

    my last new vehicle was an 03' stI ... i remember changing out a lot of things that weren't really needed.....

    Old post. But see the groves in the middle of those pads? Don’t even worry till the groves are close to being gone. 131,000 on my 2016. Getting ready to do the brakes for the first time.
