I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve taught a lot of people how to drive stick in my truck. 200 miles with even beginners wouldn’t have hurt a thing. Anybody who could have done damage in 200 miles wouldn’t have made it out of the lot.

I can promise you that no one would do a clutch dump from that rpm more than once. You wouldn’t believe the axle hop. Also the clutch would survive.

Never bought a brand new car with more then 10 miles on it. If I’m dropping 40k on a car and they won’t give you an agreement with 100% coverage with whatever issue was/wasn’t found I might look elsewhere.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
My '06 TRD OR was handed over with 10 miles on the odometer, and my '21 TRD OR with 9 miles.
I'd push for some consideration given the miles driven - warranty extension or knock some $$$ off the OTD price. No guarantee that you'll get it, but if you never ask you won't get.

I wouldn’t be worried about the mileage, these trucks last forever it seems. Just make sure everything is in order and that it’s truly “new”.

    edit: can’t spell.

Fwiw mine had 3 miles when I picked it up. because manuals are hard to find, I was on my third prospect before I got this one. Then I drove 950 miles home. But that many and brand new sounds fishy. But apparently the trucks themselves record all your actions so the history is in there.

My taco had 270 miles on it when I took delivery, it was a dealer trade from pennsylvania so someone had to drive it up.

Mine had 9 miles when I picked it up, but it’s not uncommon to see new vehicles with 2-300 miles on them. Dealers around here trade with each other A LOT and so there’s always several vehicles with miles on them. Managers also use them pretty frequently. My wife was looking at a new 4Runner that turned out to have over 1,200 miles on it from the GM using it as their daily driver for over a month. We turned that down pretty quick. I wouldn’t worry about so,etching like 200 miles though, but that’s just me. I guess it being an MT is more of a concern.

If this was supposed to be new from the factory to you than fuck em. If you are buying off the lot and/or from a dealer transfer it will have been test driven.

I have ordered my last three trucks. They all had 5 miles on them.

Probably most of them. Most people are terrified of seeing a stick and stay far away. Besides maybe the occasional douche who thinks he’s cool and can figure it out

I think mine had 6 miles, but I had special ordered it and picked it up the day after it arrived from the distributor.

For the whole "no issues found per customer request" thing.... just ask the salesman about it. Tell him you found this service record, the truck has a decent # of miles for being "new", and you'd like to know the truck's history. Had it been previously sold? Was it a demo vehicle? Who brought it in for the service (what was the complaint)? etc.

It doesn't make sense to speculate, just be direct and ask the dealer.

I've seen a lot of comments about dealer trades, in this area it's common. My dad after he retired would do this alot. My last truck was a dealer trade had 250 on it. Come from MLPS. Only new one I purchased with greater than 10 miles on it unless it was used, but I was told up front it was a driven dealer transfer and not trailered.

When i picked up mine from the dealer that ordered it, couldn't believe it had only .6 mile on the odo. You could smell everything burning off it on the drive home.

My 2005 Kia Spectra (most reliable car ever!) had it's clutch replaced for the first time at 200k miles - yes, you read that right. Had to get the trans rebuilt due to synchros going out and the guy said to do clutch at same time since he's in there, and he was amazed at how good it looked and told me I had lots of miles still left on it.

So yes, it absolutely depends on how you drive. I am OCD about being off the clutch whenever possible, and I even double-clutch most of the time to be nice to the trans. The trick is to never hold the clutch in for longer than a second, at lights I take it out of gear. The hardest thing has been dealing with Reverse in my truck since I have to feather the clutch and I grind my teeth every time. Finally bought the 2L-Rev mod harness and need to install that thing ASAP!

Dealer found my truck out of state. Instead of shipping it on a trailer, they had a guy drive it 400 miles to my dealer. I wasn't crazy about that, given that it's a manual, but... So far the clutch has been OK for the 31K miles I've put on it.
