I smashed the shit out of the skinny pedal on my test drive for a good 7 miles or so. I had to make sure i liked the power (coming from a 2nd gen). Was i satisfied? Eh not bad:cool:

I did however buy the other truck with exact same config/color just black badges with 1 mile on it :D:D:D

I agree with this ^. The old saying that a car depreciates the moment you drive it off the lot is still a thing , albeit with Tacoma's in 2021 that depreciation number is likely much lower than a typical year. I bet they would at least throw in an accessory or 2 in order to close the sale.

Kinda skipped to most recent post so I’m not sure if anyone mentioned this but 150 miles at is anywhere between 3-5 HOURS of driving in that vehicle. 200 miles is easily extra 1-2 hours. In my opinion, if I’m buying new and paying new prices, I ain’t buying a truck someone potentially farted 5 hours inside. Time inside aside, I’ve seen how dealers drive the vehicles on the lot. They are there to sell the cars, not to care for them, that’s the buyers responsibility. 9/10 dealers that drove the new car with me sitting on passenger side drove it like it’s an M3 at the track. Flooring it, hard cornering. Trying to make the car look like it’s more than what it is. Because of this I shop for new inventory now. My Tacoma had 2 miles, 5 after the salesman fueled up first tank for me. Just passed 200 miles farting in it myself.

I mentioned earlier, a per mile reimbursement can be negotiated for mileage over a certain number. They told me $.58 per mile (IRS mileage reimbursement) but that I think is up to the dealership and maybe state requirements. I don't remember the base number but it is not reasonable to expect the dealership to tag a truck with 200 incidental miles on it as "used".

I felt a bit guilty for the next guy to own this truck when i took a test drive with the salesman in a manual 4 banger seeing what kind of power it had. I don't think i hurt anything as the truck was a pooch....well maybe smoked the clutch some.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
4 miles. It had been test driven. Unsure if related, but every window had a smudge smear or some sort of gunk on them. First thing I did when I got home was clean all the glass to make sure it was dirt and not flaws.

Last one had 2 miles on it with all the interior plastic coverings still intact.

Mine had 100 klicks on it but it was to be expected as it was a 2017 model still on the lot well into 2018 (remember when that happened? lol no chance of this nowadays).

I dont know for sure about Toyota but most OEM's require the tech to do at least a 15 miles test drive during the pre-delivery inspection before its placed on the lot. Granted sometimes that doesnt get done.

When I bought my '08 it was a demo, then it was driven from another state to the dealer where I bought it as the first owner. It had 300 miles on it.
It was fine, no scratches or door dings. Traded it on my '17 eleven years later.

If they have time. Mostly what they do pretty much is just deflate the tires to factory spec, remove plastic wraps install, floor mats, and give it a wash, any owner can do that after. The only potential liability I see why they absolutely have to do that is if tires are over-inflated and the new owner wreck the car because of it, or plastic wraps catch fires somehow

Mostly it's to inspect that everything is in working order before delivery. We (as a dealership) only have a certain timeframe to claim arrival/transport damage (it claims differently from warranty claims). Some brands even have things that need to be completed (taken out of transport mode, suspension blocks removed, dealer installed accessories, fluids installed). When I worked for Kia they shipped Sorrentos with dry rear diffs. We had to fill the rear diffs before we took them out for PDI.

Mine had 2 miles and all plastics still on inside. Went and did paperwork, came back to it having 11 miles on it.

I see, yeah I don't see the average person owning Sorrentos to check and replace their own rear diff, although I bet it's super easy drain and fill job. But you are right, it depends on the manufacturer.

I've seen all the low inventory and price threads lately so I'd recommend OP buy the truck.

In case it makes you feel any better.. in 2002 I bought a Nissan Xterra 4wd that had been an Enterprise rental car for the first 13,000 miles of it's life. It's still running without any major repairs with 165k miles. Just imagine the flogging and abuse of an offroad worthy rental car.

Took deliver with 7 miles. Checked engine oil, walked around, jumped in for a 700-mile road trip home.

Kept thinking, "damn, these Off roads have stiff suspension?" Test drove a DCSB, but it seemed much softer.

A month later, I finally warmed up and checked the rest of the vehicle. 60 psi in all four tires, deflated to 30 psi (cold, outside air at 60F). Hey, this thing rides much better.

Well i can you nothing of the sort was done on mine...was told once it had been all service checked it went straight to being prepped for a ceramic glass coat which took an extra 2 days, or it would of been ready earlier. Truck only had .6 miles when i drove off the lot home.

I drove mine off the lot yesterday. It had 6km, or roughly 3.5miles. My sales guy told me the 6 were from him driving it to get gas.
My opinion, 150 miles is like new, not new.
