I locked up the truck today on highway Truck is less than a week old and dropped skid marks on the highway and how close i got to the car in front thanks to a little swerving Though I flat spotted the rubber. And yes skid marks may have been not just outside the truck

My '06 is pretty much bone stock. I replaced front pads at about 60k, and I just did them again at 90. Probably didn't need to. I just drive, not caring how hard I am on my brakes, but I'm happy with them. That's why I keep buying stock Toyo pads.

I'm now over 90k miles on factory brakes with quite a bit of pad left. I double checked them when I put my lift on and had about 1/2 or so left on them.

    back to bone stock.
Depends on how many times you hit the brakes. Not the mileage. IMHO

cant help with mileage numbers since my truck is new, but these are some great numbers Im seeing.
I agree you should wait til you hear a squeal, or youre wasting money, and if you arent at minimum thickness, might as well spend $10-15 per rotor and just have them turned, unless you want to "upgrade" from oem for some reason.
Drums and shoes? I havent worked on them in decades. :D

If you are wearing out the front brake pads in less than 75K to 100K miles you aren't doing something right. Keep your foot off the brake pedal unless you are actually braking. I just sold my 1993 Isuzu PU with the original pads on the front and shoes on the rear. It also had the factory clutch still in it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weight of the truck, weight of the rims as tires and driving conditions are all going to affect the frequency that you will need to change the pads. I average about 30-45mins to and from work everyday in stop and go traffic to go 13 miles one way. Those 13 miles are going to put a lot more strain on my pads than someone who only steps on the brakes once in 13 miles. I also just upgraded to 265/75/16 BFG AT KO's which I can tell when driving are quite a bit heavier than stock tires. I expect to change my pads even sooner this time around.

    Just my $.02

Yeah, that is true, but compared to replacing my wifes brakes every year, the mileage I am getting off of factory brakes is awesome. How you drive makes a big differance, but I never expected to have my brakes lasting this long. I bet I'll hit 125k with them before I have to change them.

I am at 96,xxx miles. As far as I know these are the factory pads. They are just now starting to hit the squealers.

62K on my 06, still going strong. Expecting to change the fronts at 80-100K.

71K on my 09 2wd (company truck). The front rotors are warped, pads and shoes still have some meat left on them.
