Mixed freeway and street driving, i keep it at or right below 70 mph and i get around 17.5 mpg. before i was watching my speed i was getting anywhere from 15.5 all the way down to 14.6. keeping her at or below 2K rpms makes a huge difference.

Anybody wanna guess what I will be getting with 265/75/16 Cooper Discoverer STT? I'm thinking it'll probably drop down to around 17MPG with tires and sliders.

I've done a lot of research and followed this very closely myself. In my truck, 05 double cab long bed TRD sport, when i ran 87 i was getting 18.7 on a combo drive 50/50 city hwy when i went to 91 19.2 not much better for the extra cost. When i went with 89 i got closer to 20.5 without changing any driving habits. I don't know why but this toyota 4.0l V6 loves the 89. I've heard the same from people in service and recommended this to a few in particular that weren't getting what they hoped for. They reported the same thing back to me with a big smile and thank you for the info. one 4 runner customer and a few taco owners. On a long road trip i get close to 22 depending on where im headed. NOt bad for a truck my size

You won't go below 17 mpg unless you have a heavy foot. As I said earlier, I've gotten 18 mpg the last couple of tanks (I finally reset the computer a couple weeks back) with the same size tires. Mine are P rated so your mileage may be worse with heavier C or D rated tires.

    None!
Just over 25 MPG on my first two fillups (half a tank each). Mostly highway driving. Two round trips from 6,000 feet, over a 7200' pass, down to 2000', then back.

    2.7l 4x4 access cab.

Took out the bench seat and but in leather racing bucket seats from Schucks, thus making mine a 2 seater. Put a leather steering wheel cover on.
i looked mine up on the internet. i have a 1997 regular cab with a 4X4 and auto transmission. the EPA said in 1997 on the sticker that its 18 city 21 freeway. they revised it to a more realistic gas mileage when running ac and stuff of 16 city and 20 freeway. i just put a canopy on which should reduce mine a little. so im probobly getting around 18 with the way i drive
