I didn't see any aircraft in that whole series except for production aircraft (F-15, F-16, F-18, F-117, B1 & B2 bombers, A-10s, AV-8B, and Panavia Tornados). No F-35s or F-22s. Even the now-deployed F22 didn't participate until 2007, two years after it was deployed.

You're probably thinking of a computer war simulation that the Rand corporation did (a Thinktank). It didn't actually involve any aircraft and they didn't simulate one-on-one dogfighting.

    http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2008/10/15/317309/us-defence-policy-and-f-35-under-attack.html

Also, Chinese and Russians don't participate in red flag. Their forces are simulated with US-flown Aggressor squadrons using F16s and F15s.

Yea i no china n shit wasn't in that red flag IMAX vid, It was 2006. I saw on youtube there were SU's f16's 15's 18's and j10s and eurofighters. It said it was Red Flag 2008. I'll look for it. Also i thought the F-35 was completed.. Last year India bought 2 F-35's from USA for the price of F-16's... I guess they'll have to wait till its done. I always confuse the X-35 for the F-35, they look the same.

X-35: This one says on it X-35

There is no way in hell that India bought a F-35 or X-35 from the US for the price of an F-16.

This is old news, look it up. India has been doing a lot of training with USA since last year and Obama has been getting closer with India's prime minster. Heres the proper quote, i worded it wrong. I cant believe some of you think the Punjabi's are TERRORISTS!

"The US hasnt authorized the sale of the F-35 to India. However, Lockheed had offered at one time the F-35 if India bought F-16's at the same price."

X just means "Experimental". It's what will become the F-35.

In 2008 the Indian's participated with SU 30s but they didn't fly air-to-air missions. They elected to keep their radars in training mode to avoid exposing it's capabilites. They also didn't want to simulate their new missles. As a result, they stuck largely to ground missions. Plus, the F-22s didn't participate that year. http://www.milavia.net/specials/redflag08-4/ There's also no note of J10s or the Eurofighter participating.

Here's an article describing the F-22's performance at Red Flag 2007.
    http://www.acc.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123041725

    Of note:
An official from the 65th Aggressor Squadron said the F-22s demonstrated an extremely lopsided advantage in their favor.

Pilots from the 65th and 64th AS, including exchange pilots from the Royal Australian Air Force and Royal Air Force, of Australia and England respectfully, expressed their frustration related to flying against the stealthy F-22.

"The thing denies your ability to put a weapons system on it, even when I can see it through the canopy," said RAAF Squadron Leader Stephen Chappell, F-15 exchange pilot in the 65th AS. "It's the most frustrated I've ever been."

According to Lt. Col. Larry Bruce, 65th AS commander, aggressor pilots turned up the heat on the F-22 using tactics they believe to be modern threats. For security purposes these tactics weren't released; nonetheless, they said their efforts against the Raptors were fruitless.

"We [even] tried to overload them with numbers and failed," said Colonel Bruce. "It's humbling to fly against the F-22." This is a remarkable testimony because the Red Flag aggressor pilots are renowned for their skill and experience. Lt. Col. Dirk Smith, 94th Fighter Squadron commander, said the aggressor forces represent the most lethal threat friendly forces would ever face.

Cool, i'll look for some red flag 07 vids with the F-22. I would like to see everyones top notch planes battle it out. Like su-37's, f22's, Gripens, euro's.
In dogfighting the Su-37 would dominate because of its superior maneuverbility, because Radar and BVR missiles and stealth would be out of the factors. The Su-37 can hold about a 75 degree AoA. The F-22 about 60 degrees.

Heres a table showing the results of 'The DERA Study' where Western fighters were put up a simulated threat of one Su-35.

    from here
    F/A-22 Raptor -- 10.1 : 1
    Typhoon ---------- 4.5 : 1
    Rafale ------------- 1.0 : 1
    Su-35 ------------- 1.0 : 1
    F-15C ------------- 0.8 : 1
    F/A-18+ ---------- 0.4 : 1
    F/A-18C ---------- 0.3 : 1
    F-16C ------------- 0.3 : 1

These results mean, for example, that in simulated combat, 4.5 Su-35s were shot down for every Typhoon lost.

Actually, stealth still makes a difference even up close. If you look at the quote I posted above, it was frustrating to the aggressor squadron because even when they had the F-22 in sight, they couldn't lock up weapons on it. I believe even the EEGS (enhanced envelope gun sight) funnel is created by the data computer using radar information (target bearing, heading, speed, etc), which tells you when the target is correctly positioned to shoot guns but I'm not certain of that. If you can't lock him up, you can't win.

As for simulated battles, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Aircraft performance parameters are classified. There's no way it would ever be published information that anyone could use. All they can do is guess. But despite that, it shows the F-22 as 10:1 vs the Typhoon at 4.5:1 so you're disproving your own point that the Eurofighter or the SU-35 is better.

Yea, i never said su-35 was better. I would like to see the su-37 the most on that chart or 47 and a gripen. I dont no how accurate that chart could be, but the top 3 dogfighters would probably be the SU-37, F-22, Gripen based on performance. Euro fighters cannons are not even ready for combat yet or dont work and the pilots have been trained to use them. If a eurofighter can pull off a 4.5 the SU-37 would have a number around or greater than the F-22`s, possibly the Gripen too.

This is the RQ-170 Sentinel... and was recently unveiled by the Air Force. It's a continuation of the RQ-3 Darkstar program from the 90s that was "canceled" and then refunded as a classified program. Both aircraft are made by Lockheed Martin.
